Singapore-Thailand Relations Strained

Singapore-Thailand Relations Strained

Tension between Southeastern Asian neighbors Singapore and Thailand.

A little-noticed, but very important piece of the global war against Islamofascism:  A Muslim led the recent coup in Thailand – and at a time when the Islamofascists are working to break the three southern-most Thai provinces away from Bangkok’s rule.  The Singaporeans seem to “get it.”

Feeling the Wrath of the Grassroots: Cojones-Challenged Bush Suddenly Begins to Get a Clue about Border-Patrol-Agents Travesty of Justice

Feeling the Wrath of the Grassroots:  Cojones-Challenged Bush Suddenly Begins to Get a Clue about Border-Patrol-Agents Travesty of Justice

Funny.  President Bush – to say nothing of his repulsive White House spokesman, Tony Snow – until now deaf to all please for pardons for two absurdly railroaded former Border Patrol Agents – is now apparently alive to the fact that pardons might indeed be appropriately considered in this case.

Why the change in the White House’s position?  Because of a grassfire among the grassroots – of RAGE that such a thing could be done.

Keep in mind that, while one drug dealer was slightly wounded by the two agents, he was shot trying to enter this country illegally – with a load of illegal drugs in his vehicle.

So, who gets immunity?  And who gets prosecuted?  And who is in prison now?  That’s right Agents Ramos and Compean, while the scumbag drug smuggler was brought back from Mexico and given immunity in the case.

That’ right!  The drug smuggler goes free – and the agents who attempted to apprehend him are now in prison.

….  And President Bush is only NOW beginning to wake up to the possible inequity of the situation.

On his talk-radio show yesterday, host Michael Savage was ON FIRE regarding this issue.  He called the President an “invertebrate,” if memory serves and Tony Snow even worse.

Savage had Congressman Duncan Hunter on his show.  Hunter is introducing a legislative measure to pardon the two agents and he is being inundated by requests from other Congressmen to co-sponsor the bill.

Oh, and the prosecutor in the case, has spoken out in defense of the absurdly high sentences meted out to the two agents.  I am sorry:  I am not buying it for a minute, Mr. Sutton!

I say that this prosecutor needs to be investigated for his VERY CURIOUS handling of the case.

And, President Bush needs to be questioned as to his strange political tone-deafness on this issue.

Hamdaniya Marines Snapped – and Now Must Pay; but I also in Large Part Blame Bush/Dumbsfeld/CandyCane Generals for Forcing them to Be Sitting Ducks

Hamdaniya Marines Snapped – and Now Must Pay; but I also in Large Part Blame Bush/Dumbsfeld/CandyCane Generals for Forcing them to Be Sitting Ducks

There is no doubt that what these Marines did at Hamdaniya was wrong.  And now they, of course, must pay.

However, it is also clear that they snapped.

I also in large part blame Bush/Dumbsfeld and their candy cane generals for handcuffing our troops with absurdly restrictive rules of engagement (ROE) that requires them act like sitting ducks.

The first Hamdaniya Marine convicted – who was on his SECOND Iraq tour – said they committed the senseless murder because they were sick of being bombed.

The murder of an innocent man was wrong – but the way our leaders have exposed our troops to needless risk is even MORE wrong.

….. Oh, and – once again – if the terrorist scum in Guantanamo are worthy of pro buono legal help from the top law firms in the country, then why the hell aren’t these Marines?

Al-Maliki Slaps Down Italian Prime Minister Prodi over Saddam Execution Irregularities

I love it!  Italian Prime Minister Prodi’s arrogant criticism of Iraq’s handling of Saddam Hussein’s execution (and there WERE irregularities, to be sure!) were well-answered by Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Maliki by pointing to the way that the Italians – at the end of the Second World War – summarily killed and strung up Benito Mussolini from a lamppost.

Hmmmmm.  I just love to see the arrogant Euroweenies smacked down.

They – including the current hypocritical Pope – all act as though they have never even heard of the death penalty, when European History (particularly including European CHURCH History) is FILLED with instances of the use of the death penalty doled out in very generous portions – often to those who merely dared to believe the Scriptures over Roman Church dogma.

This Guy Just May Be on to Something – Are You SURE You Want to Feed Your Baby Soy Formula?

Okay.  I will admit it.  I am not a great Jim Rutz fan.  (He has a regular column in WND.)  Moreover, when I first heard about the initial installment of his mult-part series on the dangers of (eating) soy by-products, I thought he might be some kind of kook.

But, he has put out a six-part series – with each installment thoroughly endnoted – and I am now convinced that eating foods containing soy byproduct isolate (which evidently was originally developed to be used in making cardboard boxes) is probably not such a great idea.

You read it.  You research it.  You make up your own mind.

Militant Environmentalist Pirates to Challenge Japanese Whaling Ships: It Could Get Ugly

Militant Environmentalist Pirates to Challenge Japanese Whaling Ships: It Could Get Ugly

Since the Militant Environmentalists at sea threatening to challenge Japanese whaling vessels heading to the Southern Ocean do not represent any established government at war with Japan, then it appears that they have all the legal standing of pirates.

As piracy on the high seas is internationally sanctioned, it appears to me that the Japanese whaling vessels – the hollow protestations of Australia’s Environment Minister, Ian Campbell, to the contrary notwithstanding – have every right to send these meddlers to a cold watery grave if they – as threatened – attempt to harm the Japanese vessels.

McCain Needs to Get a Clue – But So Does Dobson

McCain Needs to Get a Clue – But So Does Dobson

McCain – as much as I love and respect him for his consistently fearless, gutsy approach to the ongoing Global War against Islamofascists and their Enablers – has a terrific knack for getting his name of positively Constitutionally caustic legislation.  The best example of this is his co-sponsorship of the campaign finance reform bill passed (and, ludicrously, signed) during President Bush’s first term.

Now, McCain is at it again, getting his name on legislation that will further handcuff free political expression by Christian groups.

James Dobson has properly called McCain’s hand on this, but – unlike Jerry Falwell, who has shown a willingness to consider supporting McCain – I think Dobson has unwisely burnt his bridges with McCain regarding his all-but-announced candidacy.

As an evangelical Christian myself, I do not take my marching orders from EITHER Falwell or Dobson, but – between the two – I will go with Falwell’s approach to McCain’s before I go with Dobson’s.

Sounds like Dobson is setting himself up for a fall, although I could be wrong, of course.

_______________

Important Update:  McCain (wisely) wants to talk to Dobson to patch things up.  My advise to Dr. Dobson: Do it!  McCain is the man in 2008.  Don’t burn your bridges.

Spineless White House Spokesman Tony Snow Confirms Bush Cares Little about Border Justice

Spineless White House Spokesman Tony Snow Confirms Bush Cares Little about Border Justice

Tony Snow, for whom what little respect I once held has now evaporated as a result of his less-than-impressive (to say the least) performance as White House spokesman, lived down to his new level of spinelessness by giving what I consider to be cavalier answers to WND’s Les Kinsolving about how two US Border Patrol Agents have been convicted of crimes against a man who was trying to bring illegal drugs into this country.

It gets worse:  The Federal Government gave the drug smuggling criminal immunity and paid for his transportation from Mexico to the trial to testify against these two agents.

Seldom have I heard of a trial where justice was more clearly stood on its head: Legalistic interpretations abounded.  Justice was abandoned.  The law enforcers are being imprisoned.  The criminal walks free.

A number of Republican congressman have called on President Bush to pardon these two long-serving Border Patrol Agents, just as he has already pardoned more than one drug dealer – but their appeals to El Presidente have gone unheeded.

It stinks.

Literary Jihad?  President Bush’s “Friends” the Saudis May BAN THE LETTER ‘X’!

Why does President Bush (other than possibly for his father’s friends’ business reasons) refer to these nasty people as our “friends?”

Incredibly, the Saudis are considering banning the letter “X,” because it reminds them of the HATED Christian  cross.

These people are not our friends.  We should have taken over their oil fields decades ago.

I have had all I can take of these lightweights telling us what to do, pouring money into mosques around the world that preach jihad, and oppressing their own women.

That’s right, Mr. President, we appear to have reached the proverbial “tipping point” with these losers, who insist on training imams who preach jihad in England and elsewhere.

The Outrage of Guantanamo – Top US Legal Firms Send Their Lawyers to Represent the Terrorists FOR FREE!

The Outrage of Guantanamo – Top US Legal Firms Send Their Lawyers to Represent the Terrorists FOR FREE!

This is truly despicable.  See-Dubya (one of the traveling-to-Iraq Ms. Malkin’s guest bloggers) does a TERRIFIC job of getting us more details on just WHO these high-priced lawyers are that we have heard for some time now are eagerly flying back and forth between the mainland and Guantamo … NOT to offer legal help to the besieged military guards that work there….  NOT to perform reserve military duties…. BUT, to offer legal assistance to the Gitmo detainees – a number of which are KNOWN terrorists.

As See-Dubya points out, where were these sartorial legal princes when Ilario Pantano needed them?  Where are they NOW when both the Hamnadiyya and the Haditha Marines need them?

Yep.  Are the young, fabulously-remunerated, generally liberal, occasionally America-despising executives at the helm of a good number of our Fortune 500 corporations even aware that attorneys from the very law firms their corporations retain are assisting terrorists – terrorists who would GLADLY sever their heads – or the heads of their children (that is, if they are not all gay) – with a dull blade while shouting “Allahu Akhbar!?”

Navy Fires Christian Chaplain (for Christocentric Prayer) – Decorates Muslim Chaplain (for, uh, Being Muslim)

Navy Fires Christian Chaplain (for Christocentric Prayer) – Decorates Muslim Chaplain (for, uh, Being Muslim)

Last month, I posted in disgust about how the Navy was fawning in a most unusual way over a Navy chaplain who just happens to be… Muslim.  (Again, how many other times has the Secretary of the Navy personally presided over the promotion of ANY officer to the relatively low rank of Lieutenant Commander (or O-4, equivalent to Major in the Army)?  (Hint: try PROBABLY VIRTUALLY NEVER!)

Now, keeping that story of Islamo-pandering in mind, as you consider that the Navy has just released from active duty a courageous Christian Navy Chaplain (also an O-3) for the heinous crime of …. praying in Jesus’ Name at a public function.  (Huh?)

Either event – taken alone – should fill any Christian American with revulsion.  Taken together in their totality (along with, in recent years, the release of Muslim Feast Day (Eid) postage stamps by the USPS and an annual White House Ramadan-time Eid al-Fitr feast hosted by “evangelical Christian” President G. W. Bush), these two events can be seen as little short of ominous – for the mutually contrasting public roles into which our Federal Government seems to be placing Christianity and Islam.

What’s next?  Permitting Muslim military doctors to perform FGM (female genital mutilation  --  Hat tip: lgf) at military medical facilities?  (Or, is that, perhaps, ALREADY quietly being permitted in some instances?  Wink. Wink. Nod. Nod.)

Boycott San Francisco! Until Arrests Are Made!

The recent thuggery against Yale’s A Baker’s Dozen vocal group by some apparently upper-class thugs has been egregiously wrongly handled by the San Francisco Police Department.  (Hat tip: Drudge)

As of last night, not ONE arrest had been made even though a number of the assailants had been identified.

Until the SFPD does the right thing, I am calling for a BOYCOTT OF SAN FRANCISCO!

Now that they see Russia is playing hardball with the fuel on which Germany is so dependent, they have had their eyes opened a bit.

Pinkerton Takes President to Bush for Dereliction of Border Control Duties

That some criminal element recently caused some of our under-armed National Guardsmen to flee from their position near the Mexican border is a symptom of a very serious border control problem … that our President only seems to view with a curious insouciance.    (HT: realclearpolitics)

Contra Kennedy:  Iraq Requires a Military Solution

After seeing the thoroughly revolting Wolf Blitzer give Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) a platform to opine that it is time for a political, not a military solution in Iraq, it was reassuring to read this.

NO, Mr. Kennedy, a military solution is VERY much needed in Iraq today.

Released AFP Reporter (Figuratively Speaking) Performs Anilingus on His Former Palestinian Terrorist Kidnappers

lgf does a superb job of calling out AFP reporter Jaime Razuri for his weird Dhimmified praise for his former captors.

I call this weird Dhimmified praise figurative anilingus on the pertinent Jihadis, performed before the world – this time in an interview or two.

Female Sacramento Bee Reporter Performs (Literary) Public Anilingus on one of the Leaders of CAIR

As lgf points out, Sacramento Bee journalist Ginger Rutland has written a quislingesque puff-piece on CAIR leader Basim Elkarra.

Such outstanding public displays of Dhimmitude as this can – in my view – only rightly be described as (figurative or literary) anilingus performed on some member(s) of the Religion of Peace.

Again, as lgf points out, Robert Spencer has a response to Ms. Rutland’s piece.

Damn Those Uncouth Ethiopians!  They Just Went out There and Smacked down the Jihadists in Somalia!

Don’t those unrefined and unwashed Ethiopians know anything?  No one who desires the respect of the MSM, Oprah, the United Nations, and John Kerry EVER just goes out and BEATS the TAR out of hostile Islamofascist Jihadists anymore.

Instead of routing their enemies in a week or two, surely they could have dithered at the United Nations for a few months.

(Actually, it is time that our US military leadership took a look at just how the Ethiopians pulled this off – and apply some of those lessons to Iraq.)

Accepting Pesos at Pizzerias in DALLAS -- This Should NOT Be Legal!

Accepting Pesos at Pizzerias in DALLAS -- This Should NOT Be Legal!

The pizza chain, Pizza Patron, has announced that – in Dallas, at least – it will start accepting Mexican pesos as valid currency along with US greenbacks.  (Hat tip: Drudge.)

WND has more on this sickening development.

Well, I say – facetiously – why are they discriminating against Salvadoran, Honduran, Colombian, and Chinese currency?

In all seriousness I say: This patently should NOT be legal.  (But, oh, I forgot, our President’s nickname is “Jorge,” according to some, so I am NOT expecting him to stand up on this issue.)

Do you suppose either Senator Hutchsion or Senator Cornyn – or Governor Perry – will grow a spine and oppose this?

By the way, I don’t plan to patronize the Pizza Patron chain anytime soon.  Sure, I am certain that most of their employees are fine, hard-working folks – some of whom are even in this country legally.

However, Pizza Patron is – in my view –  owned by (to invoke radio talk-show host Michael Savagesque terminology) greedy, unpatriotic, subversive, pigs.

Moving the Deck Chairs on the Titanic

Moving the Deck Chairs on the Titanic

A good title, the Titanic being a metaphor for the Bush Administration’s steadfast, arrogant perseverance in pursuing a liberal, elitist, and internationalist ethos in – with few exceptions – virtually everything it has undertaken.

While GWB (disingenuously?) campaigned as an evangelical Christian and as a conservative, in virtually his every appointment, Bush has relied on the “elites.”  The latest most egregious example, is the shuffling of the very noble-looking (but amazingly unproductive) and Yale-educated John Negroponte from his position as director of National Intelligence (where he has performed with outstanding mediocrity) to the vacant position of Deputy Secretary of State.

Only slightly less egregious, but surely more important, is GWB’s appointment of Admiral Fallon – who has spent the last several years in the Pacific rubbing elbows with his counterparts in the PLAN (that’s People’s Liberation Army Navy!) – to replace the retiring General Abizaid.  It seems egregious, first, because, Fallon is a naval aviator (hat tip: Westhawk) and the Iraq War is basically an Army/Marine affair, and it is egregious, secondly, because Fallon has had nothing to do with Iraq for the past three years.

In other words, Bush passed over all the generals that have gotten their hands dirty with the heavy lifting in Iraq for the past three years and brought in a patrician fly-boy more at home at a cocktail party with Chinese bigwigs than on a battlefield.

Bush is running on empty, and reshuffling the deck chairs is not going to get it.  Bush, it seems, is working very hard at going down in history as the worst Republican President EVER (well, except, perhaps, for Gerald Ford).

If you wonder why I am so discouraged about the war, read the following pieces about: a) how the American elites have (suicidally) rewritten the rules of warfare (with the net result that we never win any); and how, if Iraq is to be won, it must be won – not by building sewage plants – but by restoring order and by letting our troops FIGHT!

And, oh, Bush apparently wants to keep building more sewage plants in Iraq (at OUR expense!).

POSTSCRIPT:  Ralph Peters, whom I greatly respects, has a totally different – and very FAVORABLE – take on the Fallon appointment to CENTCOM – namely, that Fallon’s focus is to be – not Iraq – but Iran.  If, in fact, Peters is correct in this surmise, then this could be a favorable sign after all.  (However, I remain skeptical.)

AP Is Taken to Task by Former CNN-er Eason Jordan: Capt Jamil Whoooosein?

AP Is Taken to Task by Former CNN-er Eason Jordan: Capt Jamil Whoooosein?

Associated Press has been taking heat for sometime for its Iraq War reporting on more than one front.  However, the most recent and the most controversial issue in this area is AP’s repeated (over 60 times!) use of a Iraqi Police Captain Jamil Hussein as a source for stories taking place in Baghdad.

At some point, bloggers (notably Flopping Aces,  Michelle Malkin, and Confederate Yankee, among others) began questioning this oft-cited source, and began demanding that AP either produce the shadowy Capt. Hussein or retract statements sourced to him.

Now, former CNN-er, Eason Jordan (who is in Iraq) has researched the matter and has concluded that there is no such creature as Iraqi Police Captain Jamil Hussein.  (Hat tip:  lgf.)

Your move, AP.  (Unfortunately, AP is apparently STILL stonewalling.)

Full disclosure:  I have had no respect for AP for years now.  It is nice that AP is finally being called to account – not that AP is responding in a cooperative way.

-------------
Update: Michelle Malkin blogs that Capt Jamil Hussein HAS been found to exist AFTER ALL!  (Now, to see if his stories hold up to the facts.)

That Independent Palestinian State the President George W. Bush Was the First US President Officially to Back? Ain’t Gonna Happen…..

That Independent Palestinian State the President George W. Bush Was the First US President Officially to Back?  Ain’t Gonna Happen…..

One of the early faux pas of the current Administration was to go on record endorsing the establishment of a separate, independent “Palestinian State” on hard-fought-for land that Israel has been bullied to relinquish to its hapless “Palestinian” neighbors.

Taking this stand was a faux pas on so many levels:  First, no other US President had ever made such a stand; Second, it poked Israel in the eye; Third, it heightened Palestinian desires for the ever-elusive chimera of independence; and, finally, Fourth, because, as this recent article makes clear, it ain’t gonna happen.  (Hat tip: lgf.)

While the article linked to above is far more sympathetic to the “Palestinian” cause than I am, it makes clear that the greatest enemy of the realization of a “Palestinian State” in our lifetime is – not the Israelis, but – the “Palestinians” themselves, as well as their erstwhile “friends” in the Arab world.

Quisling FBI Doing the Enemy’s Work by Going after Guanatamo’s US Military GUARDS!

Quisling FBI Doing the Enemy’s Work by Going after Guanatamo’s US Military GUARDS!

FBI Director Robert Swan Mueller III is clearly a liability—and NO asset to the current Bush Administration.  In fact, he is the FBI’s main Quisling.

When the flames of the WTF’s 9-11 fires had scarcely been extinguished, Mueller appeared beside the President – not to assure the American people that the FBI would be pulling out all the stops in its effort to root out possible sources of other terrorist attacks, but – to warn the American people not react with negative feelings toward Islam or Muslims?

Huh?  Did J. Edgar Hoover appear beside FDR on December 8th, 1941 to warn the American people against harboring negative feelings towards the Japanese people?  (To ask such an absurd hypothetical is to answer it.)

And, yet, President Bush has stuck ever since with his unfortunate choice for FBI Director, and Mueller’s priorities have surely trickled down to the lower echelons of the organization, as can be seen by this recent discouraging report, where the FBI is investigating – not detainee assaults on Guantanamo’s GI guards.. NO!! – reports of abuse of the (in many cases) fanatical Islamofascist inmates housed at Guantanamo.

Mr. Mueller, Sir, you are part of the problem and not part of the solution as to why we are not doing better in the war against terror!

Thank you so much, Mr. Mueller, for your great concern for the terrorists housed at Guantanamo.

I Personally Find Dealing with Earthlink Customer Support to Be a Nightmare

I Personally Find Dealing with Earthlink Customer Support to Be a Nightmare

As a long-time user – and a former unofficial cheerleader for – Earthlink Internet services, I can say, that (JD Powers & Associates findings to contrary notwithstanding) in my personal experience – over the past decade or so, dealing with Earthlink has gone from very quick and easy to a…..hair-pulling…. nightmare.

First, calling them on the phone takes you to various nested voice menus that offer options that I don’t want.

When I call another number, I am put on hold for an inordinate amount of time.  Or, told to call back at another time.  (Huh?)

When I do get someone, it is inevitably a technician in either the Philippines or India, who either has a an accent I find challenging to deal with or who simply does not understand the basic US business cultural ethos.  (Hey, I don’t understand the Filipino or Indian business ethoi, either, but, then again, I don’t work as a phone-based support tech for those regions, either.)

I have had bad experiences with everything from their support for highspeed Internet connections, Web hosting, and their Internet telephone services.

My suspicions are that major account holders get the kid-glove treatment, while the rest of us are treated like, well, rather like beggars looking for a handout.

I have available to me in my locale both Time Warner and AT&T.  I am open to suggestions.

President Bush, Please Extricate Your Cranium from your Posterior Cavity in Re: CAIR!

President Bush, Please Extricate Your Cranium from your Posterior Cavity in Re:  CAIR!

When it comes to dealing with the Jihadi-Symp, pro-Shari’ah-Law (see here also), American Islamist pressure group, CAIR – or, for that matter, any issue dealing with Islam – it  is becoming painfully clear that the Ultra-Dhimmified, lickspittle, sycophantic Bush Administration not only DOES not get it, but also – as has now become patently obvious – blatantly REFUSES to get it.

In fact, (as Andrew C. McCarthy delineates in excruciating detail) key Bush Administration officials – including first and foremost the President himself (also, here) and his woefully underqualified SecState, Condhimmi Rice – have apparently made it their considered policy (if not their cause celebre) – to bury their noses as deeply as possible into the backsides of the leaders of American pro-Islamist organizations such as CAIR, as if to say, “See, we are not prejudiced; and there are no bad Muslims, really – just sincere, but misguided Muslims who misunderstand us.  (Hat tip: MichelleMalkin.)

lgf also righteously flays the lobotomized Bush Administration for this latest outrage in connection with the TSA.gov Web site.

In the meantime, (as Ms. Malkin also points out) prominent Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer recently (and at the cost of some severe CAIR-generated backlash) distanced herself from the CAIR organization.  (Hat tip: lgf.)

President Bush appears to be well on his way to occupying the bottom shelf of former Presidents – right there alongside the ultimate toad, former President Carter.

Very few Presidents have had a greater opportunity to – well, become great – than did GWB.  Yet, it is hard to imagine anyone so steadfastly AVOIDING opportunities for greatness than this unfortunate occupant of the White House – for whom I voted and for whom I once held such high hopes.

Update:  In war, it is important to study the the thinking of the enemy, especially, the “enemy within.”
