(Atheist) Hitchens Asks: Why Are We So Scared (of Offending Muslims)?

In connection with the Pace University Qur'an-Dunking absurd "hate crime" prosecution, the atheist Christopher Hitchens wonders just why we are SOOOOOOOOOO afraid of "offending" Muslims....

Very good question.

Pace University Student Arrested for Placing Copies of the Qur'an in the Toilet

While placing copies of other people's Qur'ans in the toilet of a public university is perhaps not the wisest choice of moves, it is hardly the double felony that it is being made out to be.

Can you imagine anyone being charged with TWO felonies for placing two copies of the Bible in a toilet?

Michelle Malkin has more.

Mark Steyn weighs in.

Allahpundit has his say.

Phil Orenstein opines.

lgf has more here and here.

Funny, isn't it, how the denizens of the liberal academe are apparently willing to be the willing stooges of the Islamists? Dhimmitude 101, anyone?

Dems Want Law-Abiding to Finance Illegals Via Taxes

Some Leading "Evangelicals" Go over to the Dark Side (Pro-Palestinian)

I am an Evangelical and no one asked my opinion on this issue.

By the way, I adamantly oppose the absurd notion of the establishment of a separate "Palestinian" state on soil that God has given Israel in perpetuity -- and that Israel has won the old fashioned way: with the blood of her soldiers.

Surveilled Serfs Are Us?

Benjamin Franklin said something to the effect that those who are willing to trade a little liberty for a little security are deserving of neither.

The Morally Confused Mayor of New Haven

The Prophet Isaiah says, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;. . . ."

The Mayor of New Haven, Connecticut, appears to have a strange preference for illegal aliens over the legal citizen. He even hails the "courage" of New Haven's illegals.

Unbelievable.

FBI Director Mueller Appears to Be a Slow Learner: Just NOW Talking about the Seriousness of the Chinese Espionage Problem? Puhleeeeeeeease!

It seems a day late and a dollar short for FBI Director Robert Mueller to be warning us ONLY NOW about the VERY REAL dangers of Chinese military and commercial espionage!

It seems they have been stealing us blind for over a decade. The proof? Their new ships and submarines -- built with technology stolen from the good old USA.

Our Friends, the Saudis: Meddling in Iraq?

Hawaii (Eventual) Secession Bill?

Sounds pretty worrisome to me . (To say nothing of just plain STUPID!)

I mean -- it's not like we have any critical military assets in Hawaii.

Or, it's not like China would not like to get its hands on a a newly "independent" Hawaii.

Sometimes I think our country's elites are on a self-chosen glide path to deliberate suicide.

Joseph Farah Exposes Tony Snow's Hostility towards Les Kinsolving

Joseph Farah factually points out the disrespect Tony Show exhibits on a regular basis towards WND reporter Les Kinsolving. Good! In my view, Snow has become exceedingly arrogant in his current position.

Bush Administration's Current Practice Vis-a-Vis Iran: Stuck on Stupid

Iran is DEMONSTRABLY known to be ACTIVELY involved in KILLING US troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

What does the George Bush Administration do? Arrange negotiations with the Thugatollahs of Tehran and "yell" at them.

That's right: While boys are burned alive in HumVs and Strykers melted by Irania,-produced and -smuggled devices, the Bush/Rice team seeks to TALK!

If THAT isn't "stuck on stupid," I don't know what is!

Moloch Murdoch's Son Anti-Zionist?

Disney Has Succumbed to PC Stinking Thinking: Re-editing Old Footage to Delete Smoking!

This is insane: Vladimir Lenin and Joseph STalin must be laughing in hell at the incredible extent of absurd politically correct historical revisionism taking place in our culture today.

Huh?

What about the HISTORICAL VALUE of leaving the films alone!

Utterly absurd: And, frankly, chilling.

"General Patton" Back from the Dead to Make the Speech the American President is Not Willing (or Able?) to Make

Like talk-show host Michael Savage, I have lost patience with the current Oval Office occupant's seeming inability or unwillingness to use the Bully Pulpit that IS the White House to galvanize support for the War in Iraq.

Could it be because George W. Bush doesn't really believe in the war effort himself in his heart of hearts?

Well, in this remarkably edited video, the American troops get the pep talk they need and deserve.

As Michael Savage says: There is a vaccuum at the top -- and he doesn't just mean the White House, either -- Congress, the Cabinet, and our current military leaders are also included in that remark.

Obama: The Naive Local Boy

I don't care if he went to Harvard Law. I don't care if he worked in tough neighborhoods in Chicago as a "community organizer."

There is part of Obama that is naive local boy from Hawaii -- as in: You can take the Local Boy out of Hawaii, but you can't take the Hawaii out of the Local Boy.

I was once told by a Hawaii native who has spent most of his adult life in the military that most Hawaiians are not very politically astute and rather naive.

Based on Obama's recent CNN/YouTube debate performance, this naive description seems now more than ever to fit Obama to a "T."

Rather cute, actually......

.... Until one considers that this yokel is running for ..... President?

Uh... I don't THINK so!

UPDATE: Much more on this at lgf.

As the Bush Administration Plans to Meet with the Iranians, More Evidence of Weapons Smuggling into Iraq

Two very suspicious bad guys have been picked up by US troops in eastern Iraq near the Iranian border. It looks very much like these guys are part of a network designed to smuggle Iranian weapons into Iraq to kill Americans.

HT: lgf.

So glad the Bush Administration has thus far done NOTHING MILITARILY to Iran despite its culpability in killing many American soldiers.

Even gladder that the Bush Administration is going to sit down soon to "talk" to the representatives of the Iranian theothugocracy.

End sarcasm.

Another Incredibly Brutal Muslim-on-Muslim "Honor Killing" --- Committed on British Soil

It seems that every time I read the story of an "honor killing" -- a time-honored practice by adherents of the ever-likeable and admirable "Religion of Peace" designed to rid themselves of female relatives whose love lives are not to the liking of the "men-folk -- each one seems to be more brutal and cruel than the last.

This one is no exception. The fact that it was committed in England just makes it more horrific.

Harsh Truth from Tom DeLay: Abortion Has Hurt Us

Former House Majority Leader Tom Delay has pointed out a harsh truth: The labor shortage that we keep hearing about (and that has contributed mightily to the current illegal alien crisis in this country) was no doubt in part brought on by legalized abortion in this country: millions of potential American workers were never permitted to see the light of day.

CAIR Calls Bush Administration "anti-Muslim"

What a laugher: A CAIR high-roller has called the Bush Administation "anti-Muslim."

Bush, as you may recall, is the first President in US history to host annual "iftar" feasts IN THE WHITE HOUSE!

He is also fond of going to Muslim mosques and removing his shoes to show his "respect" for the "Religion of Peace."

Memo to CAIR: Enjoy Bush while you have him -- America is wising up to the ways of the Islamist radicals-Lite that you represent and personnify.

How Do You Say "Surrender Monkey" in Hangul?

There is a pic next to this article depicting Koreans holding a vigil of sorts asking that the ROK Government withdraw all troops from Afghanistan.

That's correct! At least a portion of the newest generation of one of the most warlike (in a good way) nations on the face of the earth have morphed into surrender monkeys.

What a pathetic shame.

Bush to CIA: Conduct Only Kinder, Gentler Interrogations

Just when you thought that the once-upon-a-time Texas-cowboy, "bring-it-on" President could go no squishier on his once-proud "Global War on Terror," the GW Bush issues an executive order requiring the CIA to be deeeeeeeeeeeecent when they interrogate terrorist thugs.

Great! As Michael Savage opined on his Friday afternoon show yesterday, Bush's new executive order sends EXACTLY the WRONG MESSAGE at the WRONG TIME!

Al-Qaeda and its sympathizers are high-fiving over this one.

I do not blame the parents of our Iraq- and Afghanistan- dead and wounded if they are outraged by this latest act of appeasement.

I know I am.

Newt Gingrich Calls out President Bush for His Idiotic Approach to Israel and the "Palestinians"

There are many things about which to criticize the sitting President (and his pathetic enablers at Foggy Bottom, Ms. Condi Rice in particular) when it comes to foreign affairs.

However, one of the most egregious has been to approach to Israel -- after having originally run in 2000 as a pro-Israeli candidate.

Rice virtually strong-armed the Israelis into stopping their war in Lebanon with Hezbollah last summer, promising a "robust" truce backed by UN troops. (For that one action, I will never again have a scintilla of respect for Condi Rice, beautiful or not.)

Moreover, Bush just announced a resumption of some sort of "peace talks" between Israel and the "Palestinians" -- all chaperoned by the US.

Bush's approach to Israel is demeaning, patronizing, counterintuitive, and spineless.

Finally, a leading Republican -- in the person of Newt Gingrich -- saw through the nonsense, and called the President on it, saying that we do not have a "peace process" in the Middle East, but a "surrender process!"

Amen to that!

An Honest Mexican Diplomat's Admission: We Screwed up

Arturo Sarukhan, Mexico's Ambassador to the US, breaks the mold of the usually incredibly corrupt Mexican political personage by admitting that the Mexican Government erred by publishing and distributing comic books explaining how to illegally enter the US.

Lickspittle Congressional Dems Do CAIR's (and Terrorists') Bidding: Kill John Doe Amendment

The Party of Treason has just killed the "John Doe" Amendment in both houses of Congress. The John Doe Amendment protects those who report suspicious activity (e.g., on an airliner) to the proper authorities from subsequently being hit by libel suits by the suspected (or ACTUAL?) TERRORISTS!

Ann Coulter Calls out the Democrats ("Treason Lobby"), Asking "Which Side Are You on, Anyway?"

Ann Coulter has a gift for setting facts in clear relief. She exposes the hollowness of the threadbare argument that "the invasion of Iraq created the terrorist threat," by reminding us of such unpleasant pre-Iraq-invasion facts as the African US embassy bombings, the USS Cole bombing, and 9-11, just to name a few.

The fact is, Coulter points out, there is a war on and... she asks, very reasonably of the Democrats: "Which side are you on?"

I am not encouraged by what I hear coming out of the mouths of Clinton-Obama-Edwars.

Well hath Coulter said: they comprise "The Treason Lobby."

No Time to Hunker Down, Mr. President: PARDON Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean NOW!

Lou Dobbs, a prominent crusader in the war against an unholy collusion between Big Crime, Big Business, the leadership of both the Democratic and Republican Parties, and the Governments of both Mexico and the United States to REGAIN CONTROL of our borders, has gone on the record calling on President Bush to pardon imprisoned (former) Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean NOW!

After Senator Feinstein's Senate hearing yesterday on this matter, it is now clearer than ever that the ONE US attorney that now embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales SHOULD have fired -- one Johnny Sutton -- egregiously mishandled his heavy-handed prosecution of agents Ramos and Compean. The more that the facts come out, the better Ramos and Compean look and the worse Sutton looks.

Tony Snow's banal boilerplate suggestions at White House Press meetings that everyone needs to obey the law and that we all need to look at the facts of the case simply will not wash.

The President has been hunkering down on this issue. He hates to override the work of his loyal lieutenants, Gonzales and Sutton in this matter.

Nonetheless, his loyal lieutenants have overreached and used their authority to destroy without due cause the careers and lives of two Border Patrol agents and their families.

Mr. President, I agree with Lou Dobbs: Failure on your part to COMPLETELY PARDON IMMEDIATELY Ramos and Compean will not only indicate a lack of willingness to act in a morally compelling case, but it will reflect poorly on your record for all of posterity, as people will wonder: Why were these two men singled out for punishment while attempting to carry out their (dangerous and thankless) duties at the border?

Pardon them, Mr. President! PARDON THEM NOW!

Ted Kennedy Attempts to Insert "Thought Crime" Language into Pending Defense Bill

Senator Ted Kennedy (D, MA) has proposed to attach a "hate crimes" (read: thought crimes) amendment to a currently pending defense bill. By doing this, Kennedy slyly bypasses the committee process where such an amendment might be debated and invites a Presidential veto of a much-needed Defense bill.

Kennedy's amendment is a blatant attempt to do the bidding of the homosexual activist lobby and would give homosexuals "protected status," thereby exposing Christians speaking out against the sin of homosexuality to possible prosecution and/or imprisonment.

Kennedy's is a wicked amendment proposed by a man who seems to delight in doing evil.

I am praying that Kennedy's plan will NOT stand!

Call your Senators today and urge them to OPPOSE Kennedy's proposed amendment MIGHTILY!

Waukegan City Council Refuses to Cave to the Illegals-Are-above-the-Law Activists

Cal Thomas: NOT Backing Down

I have posted already of a recent on-air interview that Cal Thomas gave where he speaks frankly of the Islamofascist threat faced by the West (and of the utter failure of the West to rise to the occasion to meet it).

However, in the face of the challenge, Thomas is not wavering.

Cal Thomas for Prime Minister of Great Britain!

It appears that Tony Blair's successor, Gordon Brown, is a gutless dud of shocking proportions, apparently denying that the recent raft of terrorist attacks in Great Britain has anything to do with Islam -- something for which Amer Taheri rightfully takes Brown to task.

In a similar vein, the Washington Times editors remind us that terrorism is not the fault of the West. Such a truism should be obvious to any except the excessively guilt-ridden (read: the Liberal masses).

One individual who gets it and tells it like it is is commentator Cal Thomas, whose comments have provoked a hissy-fit on the part of CAIR.

Too bad Thomas is an American: Britain could use his ilk at 10 Downing Street.

The (Islamist) Elephant in the Room: Or, Is AP Writer David Rising Clinically Insane?

Radio talk-show host Michael Savage, the author of a book entitled, Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder, often reiterates that position on the air -- and often in connection with the liberal inability to call a spade a spade when it comes to the Islamofascist War against the West (better: the Islamofascist War against Everybody Else!).

Exhibit "A" today of this mental disorder on display is an AP piece by AP writer by David Rising (et al) on the recent bombing attempts in Great Britain that were plotted out by several doctors.

The point of the article is to show that this was a diverse group (from different countries) united by a common desire (to wreak havoc in Great Britain).

NOT ONCE in the article is the elephant -- the thing that TRULY united these terrorists -- in the room even mentioned: Islam. Nor is Islamic terrorism mentioned. Nor is the word Muslim mentioned.

Mr. Rising, Sir, as a reporter, you are dishonest and gutless and I despise you mightily.

How about Pardoning Ramos and Compean, Mr. President?

Now that President Bush has (rightfully) spared Scooter Libby a prison term via a Presidential commutation, he is being pressed to pardon imprisoned former Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Compean, who were shamelessly prosecuted by rabid US Attorney Johnny Sutton and given draconian prison terms for.... doing their damn job!

How about it, Mr. President? Mercy triumphs over judgment!

Hillary: Bill's Pardons Were Born of Pure Motives, But Bush's Pardon of Libby Was Evil.... (Huh?)
