Excellent Washington Times Editorial on Bush’s Amnesty in Disguise Program

Excellent Washington Times Editorial on Bush’s Amnesty in Disguise Program

Well, it is good to see that one prominent newspaper in this country gets it … about illegal immigration, that is – and about the lunacy of the Bush-Kennedy-McCain-Cornyn-style of “guest worker” program that will legitimize, recognize, and reward lawbreakers.

That’s right: Crossing the border illegal is an unlawful act.

Let’s look at this logically.  Other than those committing illicit sex acts (e.g., homosexuality, fornication, etc), what criminal groups have lobbyists working overtime to legitimize them – besides illegal aliens.

As Michael Savage says: Bush’s plan is “amnesty by any other name.”   But – oh, no! – the Bush Administration tries to assure us with a straight face that legitimizing Eleven Million illegals is NOT an AMNESTY program AT ALL!  (Right!)

Once again, the man who could have anyone advising him has chosen to surround himself with those who counsel the path of mediocrity.

And President Bush is following that advice – to his own harm and to that of this country.

NOTE: Many US cities have made it their policy NOT to report illegal aliens to the Federal Government.  Such a policy makes a city a “sanctuary city.”  What nonsense.  What gives these cities the right to simply disregard one part of the Federal legal code?

Here Is a Guy with Cojones

Here Is a Guy with Cojones

Or: JOE LIEBERMAN for President in 2008!

Here is a piece that will mark Joe Lieberman with greatness.  First, he has shown what Jack Kennedy called a “Profile in Courage.” Second, he has shown that there is at least one sitting Democrat in the Senate with a scintilla of moral discernment regarding the war on the Islamofascists.  Third, he has very possibly saved the Democratic Party from immediate assignment to the dustbin of history.

Fourth, Senator Lieberman has come to the rescue of his country by making a case for the war in Iraq that the bumbling and inarticulate Commander-in-Chief who started the war either is incapable or unwilling to make.

A salute to Mr. Lieberman:   You have my vote in 2008!  At least we know YOU won’t cut and run – even though the rest of your Party members (along with the “checked-pants” Republicans) are panting to ditch Iraq as soon as possible!

Bush Begins to Twist the Knife

Bush Begins to Twist the Knife

Having already stabbed America, its military members, and the Republican Party in the back, via his  absurd Federal overspending, his base closures, his half-hearted war effort in Iraq, and his wink-and-nod approval of massive and out-of-control illegal immigration, President Bush is now beginning to TURN the knife through his new “cut-and-run-slowly” tack on Iraq.

While  I seldom agree with liberal writers like Fred Kaplan, I have to give credit where credit is due:  Bush IS being cynical about Iraq, as well as about illegal immigration.

In fact, it is getting harder and harder to defend ANYTHING Bush does other than his (remarkably serendipitous) judicial appointments.

As the father of a son in Iraq, I greatly and deeply resent President Bush’s having started the war in Iraq and having – after a stellar initial invasion – waged a lackluster, aimless campaign in Iraq for the past two years during which over 2000 men have died.

However, for Bush now – even while telling people why we must NOT immediately leave Iraq – to plan an exit in a not-so-subtle way for his own political convenience simply makes me sick.

I love Kaplan’s point that, while the Bush Administration (rightly) roasted Congressman Murtha (D-PA) for advocating an immediate exit from Iraq, it is now feverishly planning to cut troop levels in Iraq and turn more and more military responsibility over to an unproven and unseasoned Iraqi army.

As much as I disagree with Murtha’s “cut-and-run” speech, I give the man high marks for honesty – a virtue that seems to be increasingly foreign to the Bush Administration.

If there is one thing that Bush has clearly lacked during his one-and-a-half dismal terms, it is a “killer instinct” towards his true political enemies:  He has boosted Federal Education spending for Ted Kennedy; gone light on the odious Sandy Berger despite his theft of classified documents; socialized intimately with the dour and sinister (deceased) King of Saudi Arabia; become best of chums with the vile Bill Clinton; has increased Federal spending at a rate that would give FDR sexual arousal; and has nurtured the feckless, soulless, and gutless Ronald Dumbsfeld in his can’t-see-the-forest-for-the-trees post-invasion non-strategy in Iraq.

But, above all, Bush could never muster the cojones to take the handcuffs off our boys in Iraq and permit them to do the kind of damage to the enemy that they are not only trained and equipped to do, but that they WANT to do.  In short, Bush – in the midst of his annual hosting of White House Ramadan parties – could never seem to focus a laser-intensity concentrated purpose to destroy the Islamofascist enemy that he has, until his recent nosedive in the polls, arrogantly even declined to name.

So, now that President Bush sees the poll numbers dropping, he says:  “We must not immediately cut-and-run in Iraq, for to do so would be tragic for America.  (Rather, we must cut-and-run in stages!)”

Indeed, President Bush – to my thinking – seems deadly serious about only one thing: Making sure that he will be regarded by history as a President who, though given a rare chance to attain greatness – strove doggedly to maintain mediocrity as his daily rule.

I hope the American fighting man realizes that he has – yet once again – been hung out to dry by his “leaders.”

Truly, our fighting men are of such noble character that our leaders (in both parties) should be ashamed of themselves to use and abuse them as they do.  No matter how much we are disappointed by our leaders, at least we can still point to our fighting men with pride – men who continue to be highly motivated to finish the job in Iraq that no one inside the Washington Beltway has the stomach to continue for another two years.

Ms. Rice: No ‘Iron Lady’ When It Comes to Stopping Violence in Darfur (Sudan)

Ms. Rice:  No ‘Iron Lady’ When It Comes to Stopping Violence in Darfur (Sudan)

In a recent opinion piece in the Washington Times, Nat Hentoff (rightly) castigates the strangely out-of-touch-with-reality SECSTATE Condi Rice regarding her dealings with the thugs in control of Sudan.

As I recall, her staff was roughed up while visiting that country a few months ago.  Perhaps Ms. Rice is like those ladies who marry wife-beaters: She has rewarded Sudan with a waiver permitting them to hire a high-powered US lobbyist named Robert Cabelly for an annual fee of over half a million dollars in order to improve the image of this jihadist nation in the eyes of Americans.

Mind you, the slaughter in the Darfur region of Sudan continues.

And, yet, Rice approves the hiring of the lobbyist.  And the loathesome Robert Cabelly, is happy to take Sudan’s money to improve the image of the cutthroat jihadist thugs who run that hell-hole of a country.

To his credit, Congressman Frank Wolf (R-VA), is criticizing Rice’s recent move regarding the waiver for the Sudanese government.

Mr. Wolf says as follows:

This American company [Robert Cabelly] is taking money to wage a lobbying war against the hundreds of organizations and more than 130 million Americans who have voiced their concern about the situation in Darfur.

The columnist (Hentoff), moreover, pointedly (and rhetorically) asks of Ms. Rice as follows:

And I do think Miss Rice should explain to those 130 million Americans, let alone the millions of Darfurians (who cannot return to their villages torn apart by the Janjaweed) why she granted a waiver to this lobbying outfit, despite Executive Order 13067 prohibiting transactions with the Sudanese government. (It was signed by President Clinton in 1997.)

Indeed, Ms. Rice, what WERE you thinking when you granted Sudan this (possibly illegal) waiver?

It’s Official: Victory Is Not on the Agenda in Iraq

It’s Official:  Victory Is Not on the Agenda in Iraq

In a current Chicago Tribune article, we are told that the consensus is against a “cut-and-run-now” approach to the Iraq War.

However, reading between the lines in this same article, it appears that the Bush/Dumbsfeld/PerfumedPrinces/QuislingSenators axis has arrived at a “cut-and-run-later” strategy.

Why do I say that?  Well, because, first of all, all we hear about now is “cutting troop levels” in 2006.

Second, in this same article, the commander of the multinational forces now in Iraq, General George Casey, is quoted as saying that . . .

“. . . the U.S. goal is not to defeat the insurgency, but to reduce it to the point that Iraqi forces can maintain a stable nation.”

That is a real howdy-doo to the families of the 2000-plus soldiers who have given their lives in this (now) overtly losing cause thus far – to say nothing of the thousands of wounded.  What a courageous goal!  NOT to defeat the insurgency.

Unless I am missing something in all this, his recent change to a “no-win” strategy in Iraq makes me despise President Bush – whose decision it was to go in to Iraq in the first place.  He now has a new nickname in my book: “Quitter.”  I can only imagine the lasting damage that this decision alone will do to the aspirations of the Republican Party in the days ahead.

The greatness of powers in history has depended not nearly so much on their ability to produce high tech weapons or to field large armies as it has on their ability to muster the WILL to WIN.

Seeing that, since World War II, the US has settled for a stalemate in Korea, cut-and-run in VietNam, and now – apparently – cut-and-run-a-little-more-subtly in Iraq, bodes ill indeed for the future of this country.

I say clean house in Washington and clean house in Iraq, as well.

I, for one, say we fight to WIN, WIN, WIN.  I am tired of all this defeatist talk by fat, rich, spoiled brats like Teddy Kennedy.

Unfortunately, it is apparently ONLY to the likes of Teddy Kennedy that the current Bush/Dumbsfeld team pays any real heed.

And the jihadists smile . . . .

________________________

Post Script:  Patrick Buchanan – a man with whom I often disagree – has hit upon this same theme in this current WND opinion piece.  How quickly things change:  McCain is now the hero – as he (virtually alone in Washington) is calling for an INCREASE in troop levels in Iraq.

Here It Comes More Anti-Gun Propaganda – Courtesy of the Vile, Leftist AP

Here It Comes More Anti-Gun Propaganda – Courtesy of the Vile, Leftist AP

The Washington Times, which – on occasion – acts somewhat like a conservative news source, today is carrying a despicable and questionable AP hit-piece on gun dealers.

The piece ASSUMES that (scary music, please!) Americans are NOT SAFE(!) without a Big-Brother data-base of all guns, gun sellers, and gun-buyers.  (Notice: AP does NOT call for a database of all known leftist news agencies and their reporters, but I digress.)

The anti-Second-Amendment piece (oh, so cleverly disguised as a – ahem – “news” piece) goes on to speak of Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) as though she were a sober lawmaker, when, in fact, she has based her entire political career primarily on the fact that she is an anti-Second-Amendment crazy.

Well, I have said enough.  Read the piece – and prepare to grind your teeth in utter vexation at its completely vapid stupidity, as well as its wheedling disrespect for our God-given liberty to keep and bear arms.

Reaching Arabs with the Love of Jesus Christ in Their Own Tongue

Reaching Arabs with the Love of Jesus Christ in Their Own Tongue

The Washington Times has an encouraging news piece that should encourage the hearts of all who love the LORD and who love Arabs.

An Arabic-speaking American businessman named Samuel Estefanos – who immigrated to this country from Egypt – has used his own funds (as well as donations from others) to launch an Arabic-language Christian television broadcasting channel that is already reaching viewers from Mexico to Canada.

The program broadcasts programs in various Arabic dialects, including those of Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Egypt.

The broadcasts are drawing interested contacts from viewers – a sure sign that they are being heard.

The name of the channel is Alkarma, which means “The Vineyard.”

The channel also does some broadcasting in English, including some programming for children, as well as parts of “The 700 Club.”

More SelfDefeating Politically-Correct Prosecution of US Troops

More Self-Defeating, Politically-Correct Prosecution of US Troops

That’s right!  More CYA prosecution of US troops by the US Military Brass – this time in Afghanistan.

The article reads in part as follows:

The U.S.-led coalition's operational commander, Maj. Gen. Jason Kamiya, said two junior officers who ordered the bodies burned would be reprimanded for showing a lack of cultural and religious understanding, but that the men had been unaware at the time of doing anything wrong.

There you have it!  Our officers are being prosecuted for “showing a lack of cultural and religious understanding.”

If that isn’t a load of bull sauce (thanks to Wesley Pruden for the latter term), I don’t know what is.

I continue to call for SECDEF Dumbsfeld to be replaced by someone with the stomach for a war based on the premise that we need to go in and kill the enemy – even if it means hurting his feelings a bit on occasion.

The current Dumbsfeld Pentagon’s logic is apparently: “You may kill the enemy, but – by Allah – you shall surely not offend his religious sensibilities.  (We are all wannabe Dhimmis, after all!)”

Post Script:  I just saw that – independently, but apparently on the same wavelength – lgf has also linked to this story.  See the comments!

Another Post Script:  On that same lgf thread, poster SoCalJustice has linked to the following VERY eye-opening article by home-grown, enemy-within, pro-Islamist,  and increasingly powerful organization CAIR criticizing the burning of the bodies.  I wonder how many articles CAIR has run decrying the utter barbarism of the Taliban (whose bodies were burned)?

And, yet another Post Script:  To support an organization that is wise to CAIR and actively seeks to expose its dark side and excesses, go to, link to, and financially support Anti-CAIR, an organization the CAIR truly hates!

Of Thugs, Hos, and Niggahs

Of Thugs, Hos, and Niggahs

Today I have bumped into two online articles that are (rightly) highly critical of the “gangsta” culture that is so celebrated today in the hip-hop scene.

There is no question that there is much money – most of it from non-blacks eagerly buying the CDs and going to the movies produced by this virulent form of social scum and their corporate promoters – to be made by the hip-hop artists and those who corporately sponsor them.

To gauge the incredible popularity of the likes of “50 Cent,” try going into a chat room frequented by Asians (e.g., Yahoo! – Regional – Asia) and asking someone about him:  The guy (“50 Cent”) is HUGE in Asia.  He is probably also huge in South America and Europe, too, for all I know.

As Derrick Z. Jackson points out, white business executives know a money-tree when they see one, and they are eager to do business with the hip-hop stars – to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars.  He derisively terms the black stars of gangsta rap are the new “house slaves.”  He calls for blacks to denounce the degrading cultural blight of “gangsta” rap now being fueled by (predominately white) greedy corporate big shots.

There is also no doubt that the “gangsta” trend has done little to advance good study habits, a strong work ethic, or family values anywhere – but particularly in the black and Latino inner city world.

I can add my own anecdotal experience gained from a brief stint as a roaming substitute in inner city San Antonio a few years back:  MANY a young black and Latino kid aspires to hip-hop fame – most, by way of some sort of general fantasy, but, for others, as a concrete goal toward which they are actively striving.  The truth is, however, as one sister of an Austin-based (black) hip-hop talent scout once told me, only a few of these kids are ever given the chance to make it big.

However, as Matt Rosenberg points out in City Journal, LIBERAL whites are (surprise, surprise) – because of their infamous self-loathing guilt – AFRAID to criticize blacks and Latinos for the glorifying the “gangsta” lifestyle – seeing it as an “authentic” vehicle for minorities to use to express themselves, and at the same time, something which the descendants of oppressive white slave-owners have no right to criticize.

As Rosenberg points out, with the exception of Bill Cosby, most prominent blacks have taken a bye on criticizing the evils of gangsta rap – evils which are resonating to young listening audiences around the globe.

It is instructive that the preferred music of the “poor, underprivileged” Muslim “youths” that are currently vandalizing the whole of France is “gangsta” rap – of which they even have their own home-grown French variety that – in a manner not unlike its American counterpart – is being marketed to the white kids of France with great success.

Lickspittle Church of England Bishops Looking for Mullahs to Whom They Can Abjectly Apologize

Lickspittle Church of England Bishops Looking for Mullahs to Whom They Can Abjectly Apologize

In a trenchant opinion piece written for the JPost, America-based Catholic writer Joseph D'Hippolito scorches the …, er, cassocks off the leaders of the Church of England (CofE) for their recent report – “Countering Terrorism: Power, Violence and Democracy Post 9/11" – advocating that CofE leaders APOLOGIZE to Muslim leaders for the Anglo-American invasion of Iraq.

No matter that Saddam was a thug of the worst order:  The self-loathing CofE leadership apparently cannot irrationally blame themselves – and their countrymen – for imaginary sins enough nor exculpate Muslim tyrants and Islamic leaders of all wrong thoroughly enough

D’Hippolito, who has done his homework, states the following:

Beyond the obvious betrayal of British troops in the field, the report symbolizes two more substantial, disturbing tendencies among liberal Christian intellectuals: profound ignorance of Islam and a virulent pacifism that embraces appeasement.

D’Hippolito cites Heritage Foundation scholar Joseph Loconte, who attributes such utterly ludicrous tripe as this report to a pre-World War II utopianism.

But, it gets even worse better:  In its addendum, the report also excuses Iran’s drive for nuclear weapons, blaming their efforts on the poor behavior of the West.

It is small wonder that the Church of England is withering away in England, while it is vibrant in much of Africa and the United States (especially in smaller, break-away, Anglican Communions in the latter) – where many Anglican priests and their congregations love the Scriptures and apologize neither for loving their religion nor their countries.

Moreover, I would suspect that you can bet your eyeteeth that the African-based Anglican bishops know just what we are up against in the way of Islamic-based terror.

Well hath Michael Savage said: “Liberalism is a mental disorder.”

Sanitizing Muslim Hate on French TV

Sanitizing Muslim Hate on French TV

Not only did the French media (aped by virtually ALL Western MSM outlets) suppress the MUSLIM IDENTITY of the rioters that erupted into an orgy of lawlessness throughout France during the past fortnight, they also sanitized the rioters words to disguise their deep-seated anti-Semitism.

The article is found here.  The link to it was posted here by poster zombie on lgf.

While the Muslim rioters – speaking of French Finance Minister Nicolas Sarkozy – shouted out (and this is said to be clearly audible on audio tape), "Sarkozy, sale juif" (trans: “dirty Jew”), the editors at French station Canal+ used the following subtitle to translate this blatant anti-Semitic slur: "Sarkozy, fasciste!" (trans: Sarkozy, fascist!).

Nothing like doing like serving as the Joseph Goebbels for the ungrateful Islamofascists on a voluntary basis!

Wash Times’ Diana West: More of a Man than Chirac and De Villepan Combined

Wash Times’ Diana West:  More of a Man than Chirac and De Villepan Combined

Whoo! Gotta love that Diana West, a regular opinion columnist for the Washington Times:  She GETS IT, with regard to the threat that we in the West face from militant Islamofascism.

Ms. West not only gives the lie to the effeminate way in which the Chirac-De Villepan duet has handled France’s recent (and still ongoing?) domestic riots at the hands of Islamofascist thugs, she does so with a tongue-in-cheek sarcasm that truly exposes the prevailing general unwillingness in dominant Western culture to call a spade “a spade” – or jihad, well – “jihad!”

A Good Word about McPain/McCain

A Good Word about McPain/McCain

While I have in this blog routinely savaged Senator McPain/McCain over a number of issue for which he richly deserved savaging, I must now – in all fairness – tip my hat to the Senior Senator from Arizona for calling attention to the War in Iraq from the perspective for which I advocate: Namely, dissatisfaction with the LACK OF FOCUS and INTENSITY with which the war is being waged.

The  NewsMax.com piece even contains this doozy of a paragraph:

"The path forward in Iraq,” McCain warned, "must defeat the insurgency and keep faith with our troops, rather than be driven by the politics of the Republican base or rigid adherence to President Bush’s aimless course.”

Finally, perhaps, it may percolate up through the MSM that MUCH – yea, MOST – of the dissatisfaction with President Bush’s Iraqi Military endeavor in Iraq is because he is waging it too anemically – not too harshly.

Kudos to Mr. McPain/McCain for so courageously and boldly spelling out a vision for victory in a way of which our President seems incapable.

(Moreover, McPain/McCain apparently managed to do the above without quoting from the Qur’an!)

French Surrender Monkey Blames Bush/Iraq for Increase in European Islamofascism

French Surrender Monkey Blames Bush/Iraq for Increase in European Islamofascism

Al-Reuters admiringly reported on the whine of Jean-Louis Bruguiere, a top French anti-terrorism bureaucrat, to the effect that the war in Iraq is radicalizing Muslims in Europe – radicalizing them both to go to Iraq to fight and to return to Europe as hardened terrorists. (Hat tip: WND.)

My rejoinder:  When you fumigate a cockroach-infested house, you begin to see more cockroach activity.  The proper response, M. Bruguiere, is to recognize the cockroaches for what they are and step on them – not call them ladybugs and feed and coddle them, as the French have been doing to the newly-active cockroaches on their own soil for the past two weeks.

The Media’s French Riots Self Censorship

The Media’s French Riots Self Censorship

Has anyone noticed how gingerly the MSM are treating the rioters?  We were first being told that they were “youths.”  Then we were being told that they were “youths – many of whom are from Africa or Arab countries.”

The media will not face this one squarely and say that this is a planned act of war against Christianity and Western Civilization by MUSLIMS!  One exception:  Michael Savage (himself a Jew) is perceptive (and courageous) enough to declare openly that the riots and France are a direct assault on Christianity.

By failing to name the enemy and their motives, the MSM are revealing themselves as COLLABORATORS with the enemy.

Jack Cashill, writing in WND has trenchantly commented on both of these phenomena: The NON-mention of the “Muslimness” of the rioters, as well as the direct attacks against symbols of Christianity on the part of the rioters.

Oh, and by the way, has anyone heard a PEEP, yet, out of the Bush Administration over this, the greatest tragedy to face Europe since World War II?

Lesson Number One From the French Riots Arm Yourself!

Lesson Number One From the French Riots Arm Yourself!

With the exception of Michael Savage, I have not heard any media talking heads mention LESSON NUMBER ONE from the current (basically unresisted) French riots:  ARM YOURSELF!

If, after watching Paris – and all of France – anyone fails to grasp this lesson (and fails to ACT upon it), it will be his/her own fault that he/she cannot defend himself/herself when the Islamic riots (or any other kind of riots) come to a neighborhood near you.

I will never forget the videos of well-armed Korean shopkeepers keeping Los Angeles rioters at bay while the police sat back passively and did nothing during the “Rodney King” riots in apprx. 1992.

By the way, the obvious COROLLARY to Lesson Number One (Arm Yourself!) is the shocking reality that THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PROTECT YOU DURING A TIME OF CIVIL STRIFE!

Anyone foolish enough to think, “I don’t have to worry:  The Government will protect me,” will have quite a rude comeuppance if they ever see gangs marauding freely through their neighborhood.

And Kerry Is Mad Because Bush Didn’t Form a Coalition with Chirac?

And Kerry Is Mad Because Bush Didn’t Form a Coalition with Chirac?

Do you remember Kerry’s (and his prime backer, Kennedy’s) continual whining complaint that Bush had “failed to form a coalition with France and Germany” prior to invading Iraq?

Hmmmmmmmm.  If the current riots – and the French government’s non-response to them – tell us anything, they tell us that the US needed the French’s help during the invasion of Iraq like a hunter needs an accordion – to borrow from someone else’s analogy.

I am expecting to hear a retraction and apology any day now from both Kerry and Kennedy on this matter. . . .  (NOT!)

Bush Waves White Flag of Appeasement on Torture, While His SECDEF Continues to Unleash “KGB” JAGs on Our Troops

Bush Waves White Flag of Appeasement on Torture, While His SECDEF Continues to Unleash “KGB” JAGs on Our Troops

Today, Bush publicly caved to Teddy Kennedy, the NYT, the Washington Post, AP, AFP, Reuters, the BBC, Knight-Ridder, and the rest of the Fifth Columnist jihadist sympathizers by ruling out torture of known terrorists captured by our military.

May I go so far as to say that – aside from being a craven concession to his worst detractors – Bush’s unilateral concession to our jihadist enemies is immoral?  Who is Bush to say we will not torture men (or women) who plot day and night how they may bring us harm?

Thank you, President Bush, for your eerily “Chiracian” stand that exposes my loved ones to more danger than they already face.  When are you going to quit trying to “make your enemies like you” by trying to appease them?  You should have said:  “We will do whatever it takes to win this war!  If it means torturing the enemy as badly as the British tortured our men during the Revolutionary War, then we will most certainly do so!  We are at War!”  Our very civilization is at stake!

Meanwhile, we read that five members of the elite 75th Ranger Regiment have been arrested for– (get this!) punching and kicking detainees!  Why, what do these Rangers think they are doing – fighting ruthless cutthroat jihadists, or something?  The jihadists blow them up, and they only kick and beat their detainees (and get prosecuted for it!).  So, it’s Lose-Lose for our troops on the ground!

People should know that there is a Web site called Defend the Defenders that, in some cases, may be able to provide some financial aid for these accused soldiers’ defense:

Additionally, there is a great attorney out there who specializes in defending military members (in ALL branches of service) who are facing trial.  He is a reserve Marine officer and he was the attorney who successfully defended 2nd Lt. Ilario Pantano against the legal jihad that he faced at the hands of the Marine Corps JAGs.

The attorney’s name is Mr. Charles Gittins.  His office is in Middletown, Virginia, and you can email him by clicking here.  Of course, Mr. Gittins’ counsel is not free, so folks may have to pitch in together to give these guys some financial help.

If you know these five Rangers – or know someone who does – please get the word to these men about these resources!  Don’t let them be chewed up by Dumbsfeld’s leftist “KGB” JAG stooges!

Yes:  SECDEF Dumbsfeld and his feminized General officers continue to turn an extremely liberal and ACLU-friendly JAG Corps loose on the troops, looking for every excuse to read them their rights, to arrest them, to investigate them, to suspend them from command, to Article 15 them, to court martial them!

Bush and Dumsfeld long ago threw the fighting man on the ground overboard to the Liberals seditionists in a ludicrous attempt to attempt to stave off media criticism of the war effort.  Their approach seems to be: “You want more troops court martialed and imprisoned for not being nice to the enemy?  Then we will GLADLY court martial and imprison more troops for not being nice to the enemy!  Now, will you PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE like us?  Pretty please?”

So, there you have it!  The Bush/Dumbsfeld strategy for victory in Iraq:  Appease your critics; spare your mortal enemy the rough interrogation treatment he so richly deserves; and, above all, send out what Michael Savage calls “the KGB” JAG Corps on a mission to prosecute our own troops relentlessly for the slightest miscue!

As Michael Savage asked rhetorically on his show today, “Who in his right mind would want to enlist in Rumsfeld’s military?”  (Remember that Savage is “savagely” pro-War – but insists that it needs to be fought more aggressively!)

----------------------------------------

Footnote:  Republican Party “shillster” and radio talk show host Sean Hannity had the Manchurian Candidate (Senator McPain) on his show today.  I did not hear the entire episode, but for most of it, Hannity was lobbing the Liberal, renegade, publicity-hound from Arizona nice softballs, such as, “Do you have any plans regarding running for President in 2008?”  Of course McPain hit that one out of the park!

I did not hear ONE question from Hannity challenging McPain on his Fifth-Columnist stand against the torture of known terrorists under our control nor about his (with Chappaquiddick Ted) proposed “free-pass-for-lawbreakers amnesty” approach to illegal immigration.  Savage routinely savages Hannity on his show, referring to him derisively as “Pawn Vanity.”

French Thin Blue Line on the Ropes: Situation Critical

French Thin Blue Line on the Ropes: Situation Critical

The French police and firefighters are being stretched thin.  Their leaders are supine with fear and appeasement before the terrorists.  The curfews and tanks should have been used from the second day.

We need to pray that the spineless French leaders find the courage to act – and to act decisively TODAY if some semblance of the fabric of French society is to be retained.

This is no time to laugh and mock.

The French authorities have shown themselves shockingly weak:  They need to buck up and crack down.

Time to initiate – and enforce – a curfew.  Time to call in the Army.

The French Foreign Legion would be good!

FLASH MESSAGE TO WHITE HOUSE: CAN DUMBSFELD TODAY!

FLASH MESSAGE TO WHITE HOUSE: CAN DUMBSFELD TODAY!

I have posted repeatedly in this blog of the Bush/Dumbsfeld Pentagon’s limp-wristed, hand-cuffed, Marquis de Queensbury Rules of Engagement and generally EFFEMINATE approach to prosecuting the war in Iraq.

I have also repeatedly called for the IMMEDIATE removal of the lost-in-the-details, removed-from-reality Dumbsfeld from the position of SECDEF.

I have also called into question the efficacy of most of the generals/admirals calling the shots in Iraq.

Now, this latest piece in WorldNetDaily.com puts the icing on the cake.

Mr. President:

If you don’t wish to go down in history as a Chirac-like jihadist-appeasing loser, please do the following:

  • Fire Dumbsfeld today

  • Fire all leading generals in charge in Iraq today.  (Why so timid?  Lincoln and FDR fired generals with relish!)

  • Tell your new SECDEF to order our soldiers in the field to shoot TO KILL all insurgents ON THE SPOT!

  • Use our planes to FLATTEN KNOWN terrorist havens – giving civilians advance notice only if they have not actively supported the terrorists.  Suggestion number one for such treatment: Ar-Ramadi.

  • Tell your new SECDEF to quit sending our troops on patrols up and down the same roads on a daily basis in a manner that makes them SITTING DUCKS for IED attacks and ambushes.  Tell him to have his troops cut through fields and private property as needed to get the job done.

  • Take the war to both Iran and Syria in ways short of invasion that will get their attention: Michael Savage suggests targeting Iranian port cities with cruise missiles in such a way as to cripple their trade.

  • Get in front of the American people and tell them that we must win this war so that Iraq (now) and the United States (later) don’t end up like France is today (burning).

  • Give a plug for the military: Encourage men to sign up for the military (but don’t do that until your new SECDEF has removed the immoral restrictions that Rumsfeld has placed on our troops preventing them from conducting an effective war effort).

  • Give a presidential pardon NOW to all troops who have been convicted or are currently under investigation for “murder” or “assault with a deadly weapon” or other such scurrilous charges in dealing with the ENEMY!

  • Warn your military JAGs that their time for harassing our troops in the field is OVER!

  • Inform the Iraqi Government that from now on, they have NO SAY regarding how WE run OUR military missions that are designed to keep THEM in power!

  • Call your internal enemies in Congress and the MSM what they are: seditionist, fifth-columnist and warn them that anti-sedition laws will be enforced from here on out, as needed.

I for one have had it with our sacrificing the well-being of our men on the ground in order to appease the very people who oppose the war in the first place.  Why are we giving the enemy a say in our tactics?  Does anyone think that will suddenly cause them to “like” us?  To ask such a question is to answer it.

Time to go after today’s enemy as fiercely as we did yesterday’s (as in World War II – not as in VietNam).

Time to wage this war LIKE WE MEAN IT!

Is Not Senator McPain Perhaps Just a Wee Bit Insane Regarding the Use of Torture?

Is Not Senator McPain Perhaps Just a Wee Bit Insane Regarding the Use of Torture?

Strange – or is it? – that the leading voice among the Vichy Republicans who are wobbly, queasy, and soft regarding the use of torture on captured terrorists (who, mind you, plot day and night to come up with better ways to kill YOU and your loved ones) is a former VietNam-era POW, Senator John McPain.

McPain served his country well, but there have been suspicions that he may not have survived his ordeal at the Hanoi Hilton with everything inside his cranium fully intact. Indeed, he has often been referred to as the “Manchurian Candidate,” to highlight his uncertain status.

Uncertainty about McPain’s mental and emotional stability will now have to be ratcheted even higher by a current piece in NewsMax.com, wherein McPain is quoted (very oddly) asserting that torture does not work. (As the NewsMax.com piece notes, McPain’s own autobiographical account relates how McPain’s own mistreatment and torture led him to offer up some military information to the North Vietnamese. There is something not quite right about this man, I tell you.

While McPain’s name has been bandied about as a viable Republican entrant into the 2008 Presidential campaign, it has become painfully obvious – as a result of his current and exceeding curious WE-MUST-NOT-TORTURE-BUT-CODDLE-THE-ISLAMOFASCIST-CUTTHROATS grandstanding – that he is simply not capable of withstanding the stresses required of anyone who must sit in the Oval Office – and particularly not at his current advanced age.

This is not to say that there is not MUCH that I admire about Senator McPain. However, the current acuity of his political powers of discernment is not among the McPain qualities that I so admire.

aaron at aaron’s cc: Launches Deck O’ Bloggers Nominations

aaron at aaron’s cc: Launches Deck O' Bloggers Nominations.

We all need a good laugh now and then, and aaron at aaron’s cc: is good at giving them to us.

His latest idea is no exception: He is launching a new scheme called “Deck O' Bloggers,” and is opening up his site to nominations to place a blogger on each card – e.g., Michelle Malkin as Queen of Hearts.

Take a moment to visit and to nominate your favorite blogger. Note: There are some restrictions that aaron spells out on his site – e.g., all the “hearts” will go to female bloggers, as will all “queen” cards, etc. Check out his rules, so you don’t waste your vote.

I have already given my vote to Greyhawk at The Mudville Gazette for “King of Clubs,” although the latest rules don't permit nomination of an individual for a particular card, only for a suit -- or so I understand it.

At any rate, please check out this fun event at aaron's cc:

Jay and Michelle Shine Dual Searchlights on ACLU Cross Skulduggery

Jay and Michelle Shine Dual Searchlights on ACLU Cross Skulduggery

Finally, after years of gushing adulation and a shameless free ride at the hands of the seditionist, America-hating MSM, the ACLU – an organization with truly evil intentions – is finally receiving some badly needed attention of the negative variety in the blogosphere.

The dynamic duo of Jay at Stop the ACLU and the inimitable Michelle Malkin both teamed up this weekend to shine the dual searchlights of their respective blogs on the latest round of ACLU anti-cross legal skullduggery.

They also highlight one city – Redlands, California – that has decided to fight back against the ACLU inspired removal of a cross from their city seal.

There is more at a local Redlands blog here.

Stayed tuned to see how this controversy develops.

God, I really LOVE to HATE the ACLU! Doesn’t everybody (except the MSM and all college and university faculty members)?

Newsflash: Pot (Kennedy) Calls Kettle (Bush) Black!

Newsflash: Pot (Kennedy) Calls Kettle (Bush) Black!

Here is a laugher: Chappaquiddick Ted has opined that President Bush is “tarnished” by “scandal after scandal!”

Help me, but isn’t Teddy heir to a fortune amassed by his bootlegging father, Joseph?

Funny, he is not scandalized by dirty money in his bank account, but he is just SOOOOOOOOO scandalized by the EEEEEEEEEEEEVIL behavior of the Bush Administration.

Funny again: I don’t recall Kennedy being appalled by all the (far worse) scandals that transpired during the Clinton years.

Please, Massachusetts!  Can you do NO BETTER than to foist this bottle-tippling buffoon on us year after year?

A Message to Our Military: Beware of Muslims in the Ranks

A Message to Our Military: Beware of Muslims in the Ranks

This article reports that the French are concerned about the loyalty of Muslim troops in the ranks of their military. (Hat tip: fjordman.)

One commenter notes that the British (idiotically) want to recruit MORE Muslims into the ranks of their soldiers. (Hat tip: fjordman.)

Of course, the biggest idiots in the US military have to be the chaplains, who have bent over backwards to get jihadist-friendly Muslim chaplains on active duty.  (One has already gotten in trouble in Guantanamo – and he is now out of the Army, but treated as a hero in the liberal MSM.)

Let’s Stop Prosecuting Soldiers Who Kill or Interrogate the Enemy

Finally: A Piece in the (British) MSM about the Legal Oppression of Our Soldiers

Or:  Let’s Stop Prosecuting Soldiers Who Kill or Interrogate the Enemy

I have posted repeatedly on this blog about my disgust with the Bush/Rumsfeld Pentagon’s limp-wristed/politically-correct prosecution of the war in Iraq (and Afghanistan).

Let us first acknowledge that the bulk of those writing for the MSM (e.g., AP, Reuters, NYT, Time, etc) viscerally hate the ongoing war against Islamofascism and criticize Bush and Rumsfeld for fighting the war at all, continually lobbying and editorializing (even in alleged “news” releases) about how badly the war is going and how highly motivated the enemy is with the obvious purpose of discouraging our military, encouraging the enemy, and – ultimately – catalyzing a complete withdrawal of our military from Iraq.  Let it be established at the outset that these people are seditionists who are to be rightly opposed, and in some cases, prosecuted for sedition.

Unfortunately, the Bush/Rumsfeld Pentagon has responded to the MSM’s constant drumming of antiwar hysteria by prosecuting a limp-wristed, politically-correct, and soldier-jeopardizing war in Iraq.  First, they have failed aggressively to avenge the deaths of our soldiers and contractors.  When a city participates openly in the ambushing of US (or other coalition) soldiers or contractors, with open participation by the populace – as happened at Fallujah and elsewhere – the Rumsfeld approach has largely been impotent.

When we belatedly did go against Fallujah (after aborting our first attack on the city), we did so at unnecessary cost to our fighting men on the ground.  After allowing the civilian populace to depart (something – to the best of my knowledge – we rarely did in World War II), instead of using our Air Force to reduce the “City of Mosques” to rubble before sending in our troops, we unnecessarily asked our men to face vicious, close-quarters, house-to-house, urban combat.

I read one report by an Army artillery captain supporting the Marines in Iraq who – upon seeing Marines on the ground being attacked by enemy fighters positioned on top of a mosque in a certain sector of Fallujah, was – due to the Rules of Engagement (ROE) in effect at the time – NOT permitted to simply open fire and destroy the mosque-cum-fortress.  Instead, he had first to REQUEST permission to level the mosque.  A full hour later, after his request had been elevated several levels, he was finally given the go-ahead to target the mosque – which he did with great efficacy.  The problem is: How many Marines may have been unnecessarily killed or wounded in that intervening hour?  Why in God’s name are we not empowering our troops to fight as they want to, using the resources that we have to their fullest capacity?

Curiously, BOTH the MSM and the conservatives in the world of blogging seem largely oblivious to the growing number of people like myself (and, more prominently, Michael Savage), who VERY much see the war on Jihadism as the premier struggle of our generation, but who quite logically want to see this war prosecuted aggressively, and who are, frankly, just as disgusted with the Bush/Rumsfeld Pentagon as the seditionists who work for the Washington Post and Knight-Ridder – only for exactly the opposite reason: We want to WIN this war, not lose it.

If the Bush Administration should ever wake up and begin to take the gloves off in Iraq, they would doubtless find their poll numbers skyrocketing among the American voters who – like myself – have sons currently serving in Iraq, even as he would have to endure even higher-decibel shrieking from the MSM and United Nations types.

There are three obvious things that the Administration is doing wrong in Iraq at this time of which I am aware (and I do not pretend to be trained in the methods of combat).

First, our generals are requiring our troops to patrol in vehicles up and down the same roads repeatedly as so many targets in an old-fashioned shooting gallery.  The bad guys know the routes our troops will be patrolling and they keep burying their ever more powerful IEDS on those routes – and we keep losing men.  This idiocy is similar to the approach of the Pentagon years ago, who refused to vary the routes that our B-52s took on bombing runs from Guam to North VietNam.  The enemy was thereby able to erect permanent missile emplacements below where they knew our Buffs would be flying on a daily basis and take some of them out.

Second, we have basically set up our military lawyers in Iraq as a hostile force against our own troops, as this Michael Smith article in the Sunday Times (London) points out.  Although Smith’s article is exclusively about the problems that British troops our having with their own military legal system virtually every time they dare discharge a weapon against the enemy, the problem is also very much present among US troops in Iraq today, as well.

Third, our military policies in Iraq – in our desire not to appear as aggressors or imperialists – have led to the absurd situation where people that we capture as suspected terrorists are turned over to a very uneven Iraqi civil justice system.  Unfortunately, there are judges in the Iraqi system who do not support the American presence in Iraq or – even worse – are sympathetic to our enemies.  The result is that we have captured people who have been detained for trial, only to be released by the Iraqi courts to fight again.  Or, even more absurd, when they capture detainees, our troops our required to turn them over to Americans for interrogation, rather than letting the Iraqi police have a go at them.  Iraqi police – a primary target of the terrorists – have no love for the terrorists, and they are not restricted from using brutal physical force in the course of their interrogations.  Why are we, on the one hand, permitting our detainees to be tried and released by sympathetic Iraqi judges, but protecting them from our Iraqi allies who would deal harshly with them?

You may ask, but do we not read of aggressive operations currently being conducted in Western Iraq by our troops?  The answer is yes, but what about the rest of our 160,000-plus troops, who are NOT involved in those campaigns.  These troops are the ones who must treat suspected enemy fighters with kid gloves lest they be prosecuted.  While not every soldier who is read his rights is actually court-martialed – some receive letters of counseling or other forms of legal harassment – they are all aware that a misstep with a detainee or other enemy fighter will land them on the unfriendly end of US military JAG officers.

More than one US fighting man has been read his rights and investigated for – get this – unholstering a sidearm in the presence of a detainee.  I did not say for discharging his weapon, but for UNHOLSTERING it!  That we are criminalizing hostile behavior toward the enemy by our fighting men is criminal in itself.  As Smith points out, the stress levels of British troops in Iraq sometimes tops that of what soldiers in WWII were required to endure.

Clearly, the Bush Administration has foolishly squandered a great deal of political capital among its potential supporters by not prosecuting the war in Iraq forcibly, aggressively, and, yes – in a more MASCULINE manner.  While the MSM reporters would have us believe that all the increasing popular discontent with the war effort is driven by their appeasing, seditionist, anti-American cowardice, the fact of the matter is that there is a considerable number of Americans who, like myself, supported Bush fully in his decision to invade Iraq (WMD or no WMD), but who refuse to support a politically-correct, feminized, hand-wringing strategy that offers up our troops as truck-borne targets as they patrol up and down the same roads on a daily basis, while at the same time preventing them from treating detained suspects for that they are: The enemy.

What is to be done?  Certainly, a great deal.

However, for starters, President Bush needs to ask Mr. Rumsfeld for his immediate resignation.  The President needs to appoint someone who will prosecute the war FAR more aggressively.  There are several retired Army generals – some of them Democrats – who would do just fine.  (Rumsfeld has alienated a host of Army generals in the past five years.)  Retired Army Chief of Staff, General Eric Shinseki’s name comes to mind, among others.  (However, for the record: Wesley Clark’s name does NOT come to mind!)

Second, President Bush needs to get back to Task #1: Defeating the enemy in Iraq.  Nation-building is fine, but we have now gotten the cart before the horse.  We are giving the current interim Iraqi Government veto power over our military missions.  This has to stop.

Third, President Bush needs to order the Pentagon to have our JAG Corps back off our troops in Iraq and let them fight like men.

Fourth, President Bush needs to announce to the world that the gloves are coming off – at long last.  As a demonstration of that fact, he should give the residents of Ar-Ramadi ten days to evacuate before turning that long-time hotbed of terrorist activity into a parking lot – literally.

Mr. President, we are at WAR with an enemy who is active WORLD-WIDE – and enemy who would gladly slit your throat given the chance!  Time to take the fight to the enemy – in earnest.

Another piece needs to be written on how we need to begin prosecution of seditionist reporters who render emotional aid to the enemy while undermining our troops’ morale.

There Is None So Blind As He Who WILL Not See

There Is None So Blind As He Who WILL Not See

For all those who may be thinking of the Muslim riots in France “it can’t happen here (in the US),” think again.

Mr Victor Davis Hanson calmly details for us in very tightly written prose the long chain of Muslim terrorist suspects and convicts that have been arrested for their terrorist plans and or activities against the United States.  (Hat tip: real clear politics.)  Funny: I don’t remember anyone talking much in the MSM lately about a “pattern of Muslim terrorist activity in the United States.”  Perhaps we are willfully blind to the realities of our precarious existence?

Fortunately, most of the would-be terrorists were apprehended while they were still in the planning stage.  Hanson raises the question: How many MORE are there out there IN OUR MIDST.  He also raises the question:  What is the prevailing level of SYMPATHY for terrorists among the rapidly-growing general American MUSLIM population?

Hint:  You do NOT have to read the ENTIRE article by Hanson to get a taste of what he is talking about.  At least read the first 10 paragraphs or so.

The greatest problem we have now are the people in the Democratic Party and the Mainstream Media who are more concerned about the “rights” of detained terrorist suspects held by our Government, more concerned about the “rights” of Palestinian terrorists targeted by the Israeli government, more concerned about the “social oppression” of French Muslim rioting thugs, and more concerned about the “Constitutional rights” of Muslims who use our airports and public transportation (not to be targeted for searches) – than they are about the Islamofascist threat on our OWN shores!

At the very least they are willingly blind to the nature and the extent of the problem that we face in this country from Muslims who reside here.  At the very worst, they SYMPATHIZE with their jihadist goals, as their constant barrage of anti-Iraq War agitprop makes clear.

Funny: Those who shill for and egg on the jihadists will in no way be exempt from their throat-cutting agenda.

The fact is that we are not talking about merely theoretical problems.  Please note that Dutch authorities just arrested a Dutch-born Muslim for plotting to shoot down an Israeli El-Al jet during its flight to Holland.  (Hat tip: lgf.)

Sadly, the current Administration is NOT up to the task of calling for the PROFILING of Middle Eastern males in airports.  Hell, they are too busy hosting religious Islamic gatherings at the White House.

Worse yet: As BAD as the current Administration is – it is LIGHT YEARS better than a Gore- or Kerry- or Clinton-led Administration would be with respect to our problem with terrorism.

A salute to Mudville Gazette’s Open Post

Nailed Dead to Rights: Bush’s Schizophrenic Approach to Islam

Nailed Dead to Rights: Bush’s Schizophrenic Approach to Islam

Sometimes something needs to be said eloquently, piercingly, and in brief.  Sometimes something needs to be said in this way that is already being widely recognized by others – and even expressed by others, but in a less coherent manner.

Ilana Mercer, of WND, has written just such a masterpiece about President Bush’s tragicomic approach to Islam.  Tragicomic?  Yes: Invading Afghanistan and Iraq on the one hand and going around babbling about the peaceableness and reasonableness of Islam on the other.  Telling people we are at risk to acts of Islamoterrorism on our own soil on the one hand – and doing nothing to secure our hemorrhaging borders on the other.

Moreover, Ms. Mercer actually resorts to the words of the Qur’an themselves in order to buttress her argument that Islam is not now – nor ever has been – a religion of peace.

This article is MUST reading as the war between the West and Islam spreads wider with each passing day.

A VERY Moderate Mexican-American Finds Himself Disappointed with the President’s Inaction on Illegal Immigration Reform

A VERY Moderate Mexican-American Finds Himself Disappointed with the President’s Inaction on Illegal Immigration Reform

I really enjoy reading the opinions of pundit Ruben Navarrette Jr.!  He is hardly a conservative.  Actually, he is liberal to moderate in most of his positions.  However, he is a very interesting and decent individual.

Navarette is interesting:  He is a California-born American of Mexican heritage.  He is no dummy:  He went to Harvard College.

Mr. Navarette is decent:  Unlike the despicable shills of AP, Reuters, the Washington Post, and the New York Times, who put out the most outrageously pro-terrorist, anti-American bilge without having the courage to publicize their email addresses so that we may give them a piece of our minds, Navarette, almost always includes his email address with his byline.

Moreover, I can say from personal experience that, if feasible, he will actually answer you if you do send him an email.

On the matter of the Iraq War, of course, he incenses me, as he is, naturally, very much against what is happening there.

On the other hand, on the sticky, urgent, and very explosive subject of illegal immigration generally – and burgeoning illegal immigration from Mexico in particular – I (somewhat surprisingly) find myself in agreement with Navarette more often than not.

For starters, Navarette is no self-styled advocate or spokesman for illegal immigrants.  Cutting to the chase, Navarette is concerned about the problem and wants something done about it.

This week, he has opined in his column that he finds President Bush’s latest proposal on immigration reform underwhelming.

Moreover, Navarette also scores Senator Frist and the Republicans generally for their role in the illegal immigration stalemate – an unwillingness to impose meaningful penalties on employers who hire illegals.

Navarette gives us some good food for thought.

Our Onerous Tax Code: An Opportunity for Bush to Seize the Moment

Our Onerous Tax Code:  An Opportunity for Bush to Seize the Moment

Ask anyone in the country to the right of Teddy Kennedy and Barbara Boxer and they will readily tell you that our method of levying and collecting Federal income taxes is broken – antiquated, unfair, onerous, and immoral.

Some of the best criticisms of the current Federal Tax Code and its morally bankrupt enforcement agency – the Internal Revenue Service (IRA) – have come by listening to local San Antonio radio talk show host Carl Wiglesworth, who can currently be heard Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 6:00PM (Central) on AM 1310 KAHL.

As Wiglesworth so sagely points out that the greatest value to the Government (and its greatest concomitant danger to the American people) of the current Federal income tax system is NOT the collection of revenue, but rather its ability to pry into our private lives, as well as to manipulate them.

What does Wiglesworth mean by this assertion?  Well, think for a moment, of the incredible waste of productive time (both the Government’s and the American people’s) spent completing (or cheating on) their tax returns.  Just one example:  You tell the Government who your favorite charities are and how much you give them.

Moreover, the Government uses the tax code to manipulate our behavior.  What does Wiglesworth mean?  Have you ever gone out of your way to do anything to get a (bigger) break?  If so, you were thereby demonstrating the Government’s ability to manipulate you as though you were a laboratory mouse.

Most important, Wiglesworth asserts, the current tax model gives politicians their power – not only to manipulate us, but also to – buy votes by promising to reward (or punish) one constituency or another by adding a tax break here or raising taxes there.

The IRA spends millions of manhours and billions of dollars running their inefficient system.  If the Government’s desire is simply to raise revenue – rather than to intrude on our privacy and manipulate our behavior, Wiglesworth asserts, then there is nothing so easy as doing the following:  1.)  Abolishing the IRS; 2) abolishing the Federal income tax altogether; and 3) imposing a (say, 17%) national sales tax on EVERY sales transaction taking place in this country.

If your first objection is: If the IRS is to be abolished, who then will do the necessary work of collecting taxes.  But, you already know the answer:  The same people who collect the STATE-level sales taxes in your country (the merchants and vendors of America).  Or, if you are thinking that my hypothetical figure of 17% is outrageous, think again!  If income taxes were abolished, you would be saving OODLES of money BEFORE the imposition of the national sales tax.  (As Wiglesworth explains, we pay for other people’s income taxes with every transaction – from the purchase of a loaf of bread to buying a car.)

Best of all, as Wiglesworth notes, unlike our current Federal income tax system, which (for the honest) gives us virtually no choice as to how much we wish to spend in taxes, a national sales tax would give EVERYONE a GREAT DEAL of choice.  How is that, you ask?  Well, because, if you do not wish to pay the tax on something, then you simply do not have to make that particular purchase.

Of course, liberals will cry that such a national sales tax is “regressive” (a logical falsehood), but there is really no justification for excusing anyone with money from paying his share of taxes.  Moreover, the best part is that those who are now dodging paying any taxes under the current tax system altogether will FINALLY be FORCED to pay their share in taxes.  How, you ask?  By buying whatever it is they choose to buy.  With a national sales tax, everyone pays – and everyone pays at the same rate.

Best of all, we will no longer have to be reporting to Uncle Sam where we keep every penny we have invested in stocks or in bonds or in savings.  Really, it is none of his business anyway in a free republic.

Unfortunately, as Robert Novak points out, the (bipartisan) Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform that President Bush appointed some 10 months ago has this week released its recommendations for tax “reform,” and they amount to little more than minor tweaking of the current tax system.

As Novak leads us to infer, if President Bush wishes to play a hand in the economic rejuvenation of America’s vibrant (but seriously hampered) economy, he must seize the moment and toss out this stodgy panel’s stale recommendations and he must boldly recommend reforms to our Federal tax code along the lines of those outlined above.

Caring More about the “Rights” of Terrorists Than about the NEEDS of Our Fighting Men

Caring More about the “Rights” of Terrorists Than about the NEEDS of Our Fighting Men

There are some in the Senate who are on record – as far as I am concerned – as caring MORE for the “rights” of captured throat-slitting, suicide-bombing, jihadist Islamofascists than they do for the Needs of our fighting men to prosecute this worldwide war for survival with ALL the tools they need to get the job done.

The two CHIEF offenders are:

Senator Kennedy, and
Senator McPain, sometimes referred to as “The Manchurian Candidate.”

Here is a good article on the subject of why we should NOT treat terrorists as anything other than . . . , well TERRORISTS!

ON THE OTHER HAND:

Some people just do not – nay, WILL not – get it:

Here is a seditious article on the subject by some folks who just don’t get it.

Here is another article that is high on misplaced sympathy for the enemy but low on common sense and loyalty to the cause.

Here is an article that I cannot classify as anything other then rendering aid to the enemy.  I call for the author’s immediate termination by the Washington Post and her immediate investigation by the DOJ with the SAME energy with which Scooter Libby and Karl Rover were investigated.
