Lou Dobbs, a prominent crusader in the war against an unholy collusion between Big Crime, Big Business, the leadership of both the Democratic and Republican Parties, and the Governments of both Mexico and the United States to REGAIN CONTROL of our borders,
has gone on the record calling on President Bush to pardon imprisoned (former) Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean NOW!
After Senator Feinstein's Senate hearing yesterday on this matter, it is now clearer than ever that the ONE US attorney that now embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales SHOULD have fired -- one Johnny Sutton -- egregiously mishandled his heavy-handed prosecution of agents Ramos and Compean. The more that the facts come out, the better Ramos and Compean look and the worse Sutton looks.
Tony Snow's banal boilerplate suggestions at White House Press meetings that everyone needs to obey the law and that we all need to look at the facts of the case simply will not wash.
The President has been hunkering down on this issue. He hates to override the work of his loyal lieutenants, Gonzales and Sutton in this matter.
Nonetheless, his loyal lieutenants have overreached and used their authority to destroy without due cause the careers and lives of two Border Patrol agents and their families.
Mr. President, I agree with Lou Dobbs: Failure on your part to COMPLETELY PARDON IMMEDIATELY Ramos and Compean will not only indicate a lack of willingness to act in a morally compelling case, but it will reflect poorly on your record for all of posterity, as people will wonder: Why were these two men singled out for punishment while attempting to carry out their (dangerous and thankless) duties at the border?
Pardon them, Mr. President! PARDON THEM NOW!
