President Bush More Concerned about Blasted Mosque Than about Tried Christian?
Based on President Bush’s often rambling and sometimes almost incoherent press conference yesterday, it would seem that the President is more concerned about a particular mosque (a building of Muslim worship that was bombed by Muslims) which he DID mention than he is about a particular individual (a human being and former Muslim of the Christian faith who is being tried by Muslims and being threatened with the death penalty for having left Islam some 16 years ago) whom he DID NOT mention. (Hat tip: Michelle Malkin.)
Moreover, the clueless Washington press corps did not even see fit to ask the President a SINGLE question about this man, Abdul Rahman.
Meanwhile, the US State Department is making mealy-mouthed protestations regarding this outrage against human liberty.
To their credit, the Italians are threatening to pull their troops out of Afghanistan over this issue.
Too bad neither the President nor his State Department (nor, so far, our Congress) have shown the courage of the Italians regarding this matter.
So, can we say that Pat Tillman gave his life to make Afghanistan safe for Shari’a Law?
Sickening. Sickening.
May the LORD work to preserve this man from death.

gunjam, I can answer this question. Bush isn't talking about it because he doesn't want to draw attention to the fact that his invasion has actually not turned Afghanistan into a Western liberal democracy like he promised it would.
What mosque?
hi, elizabeth: For once, it seems we see eye to eye. It stinks to high heaven. Mark Steyn has a great piece out on this very issue. He says we need to "FACE DOWN" the Islamic culture, something that you would most likely feel squeamish about. -- gunjam
hi, hip-hope raven! It was that golden-domed shi'ite mosque (in Iraq) that was bombed several weeks ago. It was a major Shi'ite shrine. In his press conference Bush mentioned that hunk of cement, but not a flesh-and-blood MAN who was on trial for the CAPITAL crime of having converted to Christianity. Weak. VERY weak. That Bush and the Dhimmi-run State Department have since that time spoken out on the issue (albeit, ridiculously anemically, is due to pressure of conservative blogs and radio talk shows holding their feet to the fire). As Michael Savage has said on his talk radio show, President Bush is an egregiously weak Commander-in-Chief when it comes to prosecuting the war on terror. He gets squeamish at even MENTIONING the enemy by name. He calls them "evil doers," and other rubbish. He needs to call them Islamofascists and he needs to call on all Muslims everywhere to make a choice between the Islamofascists and moderation. If the majority of Muslims cast their lots with the Islamofascists, then we can whitewash the reality no longer: We find ourselves in an all out war in which the two sides are Islam and the West (and in particular Christianity). Bush, whose family is in bed with the Arabs on business ventures, is not up to either facing or vocalizing this latter reality. Of course, neither are any leading Democrats, so please don't think that I am advocating for Hillary (vomit), or something like that. -- gunjam
gunjam, Bush couldn't possibly pronounce a word like "Islamofascist."
Are you aware that fundamentalist Islam initially grew as a response to Western colonialism/imperialism, then later as a resistance movement to indigenous autocratic regimes (which were often supported by the West). You really should read that book I recommended.
Actually, I see an upcoming "war" between Christofascism and real Christianity. By Christofascism I mean increasing government control/authoritarianism, bigotry and hyper-nationalism at home and military aggression abroad, sold to the American public as reflecting "Christianity" when in reality these are fascist policies that are completely contrary to the principles of Christianity.
hehe, gunjam, about the mosque, I was being facetious. meaning: there is no mosque anymore period
hi, elizabeth: I think that Hezbollah and Hamas are crazy NOT to hire you as their Public Affairs spokesman. You are the world's BEST (non-Muslim) apologist for Islamic violence and hatred I have ever encountered. What is your excuse for the Prophet Muhammad's bellicose and pederastic ways?
Regarding your point about a coming war between Christofascism and Christianity, you are not far off the mark. The war has already been in place for some time now. The recent "coded" prohibitions by the AF and Navy of Christian chaplains praying in the Name of Christ in public settings give away the true position of those in high places in our country's Government. Howvever the Government elitists of today are confirmed INTERNATIONALISTS, not nationalists, as you imply. -- gunjam
hey, hip-hope! Good one! You got me good on that one! Shalom -- gunjam
