A Wink and a Nod from the Bush Administration
A Wink and a Nod from the Bush Administration . . .
. . . To the unutterably corrupt ruling Saudi elite by waiving sanctions for their theocratic rule by Islamic Shari’a Law, which – shall we say – does “little” to encourage what the Liberals are fond of calling “diversity” on the religious front.
Here is a hint: The Saudi flag has the Islamic creed spelled out on it. The CONSTITUTION of KSA (The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) is none other than the Qur’an. By the way, KSA is home to the holiest site in Islam (Mecca).
The law is so strict in KSA that foreigners who live and work there have been known to have been arrested for meeting in homes for Bible study and worship.
But, hey, the Saudis have OIL, baby – and that is good enough for even the politically correct Bush Administration suddenly to “see no evil” in the Islamic Paradise of Saudi Arabia when it comes to the suppression of religious rights. (Hey, what’s a little incarceration and torture among “friends” after all, right?)

I have known some who went over to Saudi to work and they were given VERY detailed lists of what they could bring with, how to dress, and acceptable behavior. They told me of people (Americans)who got in trouble for practicing their religion while there. They also told me that those people were 'spreading the word' when off American compounds after being strictly forbidden to do so, prior to their arrival in country. So, I have some questions as to the big picture.
Hi, sk! Don't worry: Saudi Arabia is a spiritual black hole worse than you can imagine! There is a new book out on this, but I cannot remember the name of it. I heard the author on a talk show yesteday: He says it is "illegal to be a Jew or a Christian in Saudi Arabia". He says there is no religious tolerance whatsoever in KSA. -- gunjam
