Israel’s Tragic and Lonely Place in the World: Concessions Only Bring Sorrow
Israel’s Tragic and Lonely Place in the World: Concessions Only Bring Sorrow
I find it amazing that Canada – the Dhimmiland north of the border – has produced a fine writer of the caliber of David Warren.
Warren’s editorials are among the finest I have ever read: The man is literary, eloquent, historically-savvy, and wiser than all of President Bush’s cabinet combined.
He has recently written a piece on Israel’s recent penchant for making pre-emptive, unilateral concessions by way of ceding land.
Warren poignantly shows that such foolish efforts – though perhaps guided by the noblest intentions – are destined only to cause Israel even more grief at the hands of her perpetually aggrieved and insatiably aggressive blood-enemies.
Moreover, he makes it clear that Israel is largely alone in this life-and-death game of “chicken.”
(Alone, except, of course, for the God of Israel, Who has promised to preserve Israel forever.)

Gunjam, will you PLEASE read something that isn't propaganda for a change?
The withdrawal of the Gaza settlers had nothing to do with the suicide bombing in Tel Aviv. The suicide bombing was prompted by the incessant missile attacks by the Israelis on Gaza over the past several weeks, which killed more than 17 Palestinians including young children. These were "retaliation" for rocket attacks from Palestinian groups which killed no one.
There is a cycle of revenge, which is something you could write about from a Christian (New Testament) perspective if you wanted to; but you seem to be obsessed with the Old Testament. I have come to the conclusion that you are a Jew.
replacement theology drivel, reminiscent of Hitler. elizabeth, how bout you spend more time reading the Tenach (Old Testament) and less time ruminating on anti-semetic tirades you so eloquently buy into. The Christ-Nazi propaganda you incessantly repost continues "the cycle of revenge" instigated by blood thirsty Hamas, now 100 million dollars richer thanks to Iran, Russia and Qatar.
btw: by your highly touted suicide bombers, at least 1,094 people - Israelis, Americans, foreign workers, Jews, Bedouins, Christians, Muslims, and others - have been killed by Palestinian violence and terrorism since September 2000. Get your facts straight liSS.
More than 3,000 Palestinians, most of them civilians, have been killed by Israel over the past five years.
I don't know what "replacement theology" refers to.
by the way, speaking of theology:
According to Judaism, Jews are supposed to wait for the Messiah to re-establish Israel. Many Jews consider it blasphemy that this was done by people.
Hi, elizabeth! I have to chuckle when you ask me to read something that is NOT propaganda and then go on spouting pro-Palestinian agitprop like you were schooled in one of their madrassas by their mad imams. Cycle of violence indeed: The Palestinians are implacable killers. They need no help from the Israelis: They believe in unilateral, preemptive slaughter of Israeli civilians -- and then hide their "fighters" among their own women and children, thereby guaranteeing that any well-deserved, well-planned Israeli strike will likely kill women and children. In short, the Palis are vicious killers and cowards. I guess we are even: You say I am a Jew (though I am not); and I declare, Elizabeth, you sound more like a Muslim "revert" with every comment.
hip-hope raven: Thank you for weighing in on the issue! Thank you for reminding us that the suicide bombers hurt everyone and not just Israelis (which is bad enough as it is)! -- gunjam
hi, elizabeth! only 3000? That is their problem: They need to kill far more than they do. The Palestinians live to hate and kill Jews. The Israelis keep trying to play nice. The Palestinians only thank them with more dead (israeli) children. -- gunjam
hi, elizabeth! Sorry! But it does not seem fair for you to have it BOTH ways: You may either rail against Israel, or you may try to explicate Jewish eschatology -- but you really ought not to try to do both. In my view, for the time being, you have disqualified yourself as a commentator on Jewish religious thought (which, by the way, is quite divided on the issue you cite, as it is on most thorny theological issues). You are only citing the view (held by the tsadikim) that is convenient to your world view (that calls for the elimination of the nation of Israel). -- gunjam
So, gunjam, you believe in total war--in genocide. If everyone had such beliefs, the human race would have been obliterated by now.
I'll convert to Islam when you "revert" to Judaism. Actually, Islam and Judaism have more in common with each other than either does with Christianity.
Raven: I guess name calling is the best tactic to use when you run out of facts and arguments.
hi, elizabeth! Funny, you get in a high dudgeon because i simply advocate that Israel fight fire with fire. NEVER have I read a comment by you where you evinced the SLIGHTEST angst over the MULTITUDINOUS genocidal rants of Muslims -- whether mullas, imams, Hamas, Hezbollah, Almondhead of Iran, al-Qaeda, etc. You are very good at exhibiting what I once heard radio commentator Paul Harvey call "selective indignation." Interesting, elizabeth. Interesting, indeed. -- gunjam
Well, why should I waste my time condemning speeches by Ahmadinejad or whoever, when the media etc. are already overflowing with these condemnations?
