Virtual Dhimmitude in Scandinavia

Before going to the “meat” of this entry, I should perhaps remind readers of three facts:

• In recent decades, the countries of Scandinavia have opened wide their doors to Muslim immigrants, who have come in large numbers but have NOT for the most part assimilated into the greater societies of their new Scandinavian host countries.  Moreover, Muslims and Scandinavia have gathered in strong communities to the point that some cities or certain sections of some cities have become zones of virtual Muslim control where no Christian man and CERTAINLY no Christian woman should ever set foot without armed escort.


• In November 2004, Dutch film director (and outspoken anti-Muslim activist) Theo van Gogh was brutally murdered in broad daylight while pedaling his bicycle to work down an Amsterdam street.  His killer?  Dutch-born Islamic extremist, Mohammed Bouyeri, who attached a note to the body of his victim making clear that van Gogh’s death was a calculated act of jihad.


• There is an outstanding Norwegian blogger who goes by the name of fjordman.  fjordman warns his readers of the dangers posed by Islamic extremism to Norway, Scandinavia, Europe, and the world.

fjordman has posted a piece that tells us that the writing/artist community in Denmark has been cowed into virtual dhimmitude* by the van Gogh murder and other developments.  A Danish author intending to publish a book about the Prophet Muhammad has been UNABLE to FIND a SINGLE Danish artist who is willing to illustrate his forthcoming work.  Why?  Because these artists are AFRAID of reprisals from Islamic extremists.

Is this pathetic or what?
